All these blerts who don't understand why we don't support "their" team just get this, right?

Anyone who REALLY follows a football team - and by following I don't mean "just for the trophies and turning up for the finals (attending or going to the pub)" - will NEVER, repeat NEVER, root for their biggest rival.

It's so simple, it's in your DNA. So when they don't get it it's because they don't get football, they don't get history and they certainly don't get the passion that's required - never give an inch to these horrible thick bandwagon Kopites (see, I can admit, we've not got too many of those cos we've not had a bandwagon to hop onto for 30 years) - they, on the other hand, have the media bias, the tv presence of all their favourite sons to chivvy along the faint hearted, the stupid, the glory hunters (oh dear, have another go at that)...their mantras, their flag brigades, their marches, their heavily controlled fan site, their doughnuts, man cream etc. Shove it where the sun don't shine Kopite.

I was asked once if I thought my life would be smoother, with less angst and aggravation, if I didn't follow a team and have rivals to "hate" (though he could just as easily have said "Everton" since he too is a Blue) - I suppose it's true. But that's my choice and I'm letting any mouthy Kospite tell me otherwise.

NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM.

Well Dan, that was very elequontly put.
I agree

What will we do when we win the league and due to tv coverage we start to get loads of foreign fans flying in for the game. Tell them to do one and not buy the shirts? The demand for ace marketing and sponsors will not happen without a wider fan base. Just saying...

Well don't 'just say'.

We're all mid gloat here and you're bumming us out man. Don't bring the party down dude, stop fretting, we'll deal with them the way we do the wools or the Welsh ;)

I have to disagree with you there. I can, if for instance, get behind another British rival team who are in a final or are doing well, I'm not going to jizz my kecks over them but I will wish them luck and be happy for them if they win. That is unless they are like our lovely neighbours who since the age of wearing short pants to school, which was a good few decade ago and spanning two continents I have repeatedly come across the same type of utterly revolting cretinous b'lend of the highest order with a face that you'd never tire of smashing. They are smug in victory, dismissive in defeat, they go out of their way to goad you and then call you a bitter. I wish they weren't such See You Next Tuesdays because it would nice to wish them well but alas they are all vulgar clones of one another and I sooner eat dog excrement from a Aids riddled Great Dane with diarrhea. I'd love to shove all their flags right up their hoops.

I will tell you what I will be doing if we do win the league again I will be getting extremely pissed, same as last time really.IF being successful means that we get an influx of supporters from all around the world then so be it,bring it on.

That would make us a bit red [Poor language removed] or manc though. Or would it not be important anymore OR we will just attract a better class of hanger-on so that is ok.
