I don't think I'd start him Saturday. I think the opportunity was missed last night to put him , and Connolly, on the bench thus giving them both more exposure and potentially more minutes on the pitch if they'd come on. I don't buy this argument that Davies ( or Connolly) would somehow have been traumatised by playing in a team suffering such a defeat. They are both age group internationals, Davies regularly captains England, who have suffered defeats at the highest level, the idea that they might somehow need counselling or have their career set back by such an exposure is bizarre.
I would love to see both coming on on Saturday , their inexperience would be more than made up for by their energy, enthusiasm and, while we really shouldn't expect it of them at their age , the sheer lift it would give the watching fans.
Apologies for the Connolly references , just that most of my thoughts on Davies apply to him too.
