1 things for sure.

It wont be rushed IMO, sure everybody wants the new man in ASAP, but realistically, we dont need a Manager until the players start pre-season training, which will be around 2-3 week after the end of the Euros.

It seems weird we could be managerless for the next two months

Just referring back to the decision today to release Martinez - it's the clearest indication yet of the shift of power between the old guard and the new. I can't emphasise that enough.

It was a rather strange set of circumstances, but without Moshiri/Ryazantsev's leadership would never have happened. RM may be a nice guy, but he's tough and was well advised. Sometime soon perhaps we can go into more detail of what happened.

However the most important thing is that now Moshiri has a blank canvas - he can choose his manager, his manager can choose who he keeps and who goes, and how he spends the transfer funds provided by Moshiri this summer.

At the time of the AGM just 6 months ago we had a failing manager and a failing board with no alternative business plan or access to capital.

That's all changed, first actions witnessed today. It's going to be a summer like none we have ever experienced - enjoy :)

Think we have been dealing with a contract that Martinez had - which specifically had clauses in it, noticable that until last night we could still have finished 10th (top half), makes me wonder if their was a severance clause in it based upon league position/s for consecutive years or some such, something the fact he was saxcked rather than mutual termination was the language used is telling that it wasn't done on good terms - Martinez digging in his heels until they could remove him maybe

All speculation from me ofc

What's different this time mate is we have resources, and people who know how to run businesses - everything we have lacked for more than two decades.

I'm certainly not going to allow Bill Kenwright to pat me on the head like he knows best. He's allowed £14 million to be spent on Naisse who has had zero impact. With no impact foreseen.

Investigations into that are needed.

good mate

The fan base is much calmer now a decision has been made. All in the space of 24 hours.

Are you suggesting he can only watch the Euros while our Manager?

Pretty sure every single manager in the world will be scouting the Euros, employed or not.
Of course not, but ideally he'd have the club's scouts also there. Transfers aren't a one man operation.

We cannot be bringing in a manager in late July, pre-season arrangements need to be made.

A quick start tends to be vital in how your season goes.

And what?

This is a new Everton, an Everton that doesnt take 3 weeks to make a signing only to be piped to it by West Ham.

To be fair, I think his point is that players aren't going to wait until the last 3 weeks of pre-season to see if we want to sign them. What if other clubs snap up the players who would have been our new manager's top targets before he's even in post?

A month to the start of Euros, would be good to get someone in by then. Doubt Martinez did any pre-season prep, and if he did, the majority of it would need changing I imagine. Busy time with selling and buying, cant leave it any later than 1st/2nd week of June.
