I am not going to be consumed by hatred or spite but will say congratulations to Liverpool FC on reaching the final and good luck. This does not mean I support Liverpool FC but support the City of Liverpool and such a thing can only be good for the City of my birth. I have no idea how many or who of the people who post on GOT are Liverpudlians like myself but if they were I am sure they would understand what it is to be proud of one;s birth place. To see the spite and hatred shown on here sickens me no end.

I am from the city of liverpool, but I am not a Liverpudlian. I am bitter and proud though.

Then they are being "fair" to the wrong people.

Or to be truly "fair" to the people of Switzerland they should award them the CL final one year as well.

But they won't.

The venue is neither big enough nor prestigious enough.

Holding the EL final in a ground of that capacity is demeaning to their own secondary competition, which they claim to want to enhance.

Big finals should be at big venues.

No ground with less than a 55,000 capacity should even be considered for a Eurooean final, IMO.

That way you make it more "fair" to the people most deserving of fairness.....the fans of the competing clubs.

They could enhance the Europa League if the Champions League was true to its name: meaning only the League Champions play the Big Cup, and the rest-of-the-best of Europe play the Europa League.

I'm shaking my head at the ignorance and arrogance of the man. Utter disgrace. But then again, they deserve him...

That's right Kopites - I know you read our forum so take this in - and I'll be polite just for you

Spend your money travelling to Basel, no doubt with (who knows?) 50, 70 maybe 100K of your mates invading Switzerland (and just a few trying to get tickets on the day and perhaps heavily inebriated), there may be trouble, there may be fighting, there might even be a serious incident at the stadium.. so, if bad things happen, remember who told you to go there, remember the consequences..

And whatever you think I mean by that, it won't be me who actually articulated it..
