It won't happen because as a few have said, if Kenwright IS calling the shots, then he won't sack Martinez, so the hypothetical situation where bill grows a spine is non existing.

However, should it happen, I think a lot of fans will be taking a step back. I appreciate fe job he did for us, he really did save our skin, but that said, he knew he was leaving, well before the fergie announcement, ye just say and milked the club dry for his £65k a week to scrape by doing just enough, to keep him in the job.

For everything Martinez is doing wrong, the one thing he's done right is develop youth, and the emergence of stones and Barkley and the rest, would simply disintegrate, and we've be left rueing missed opportunities for getting a top manager.

I'd take him back, there I've said it.

Whilst I totally agree with the reasons why he shouldn't be back, and he would in no way be my first choice as manager (probably my last). I do feel he has unfinished business here.

He managed us with his hands tied behind his back for the most part, no money to buy players or compete with the big boys. When he did have money to spend he generally spent it well; he had an eye for a player. I would like to see what he could do with these players (2008 wasn't a bad year, we played some sexy football that year and had some good players), and what he could do with some spending power.

But then I think a blind man with a robbers dog as a guide dog would do a better job than Boberto and I just want to hear that he's gone.

Seriously if you think for a second that Moyes and Kenwright didn't exaggerate the "struggles" we had, ten you're very naive.

In Kenwright, Moyes had a 100% safe job, and was never getting sacked. £65k a week is easy when there's zero pressure on you.

In Moyes, what kenwright got was a man who'd deflect any blame from the man who could seemingly so no wrong, someone who was satisfied go for the bare minimum, someone who squashed fans expectations, who made us, the fans fear going to anfield, old Trafford and Stamford bridge.

As I said, build the foundations to make us stable, just couldn't finish the house.
I'll be grateful for that. But 11 years... 1 final. 3 semis and importantly 0 trophies.

No one cares about nearly being great. They care about being great and winning trophies.

Getting Moyes ( to some ) would ( right now) seem a step forwards on current merit. But long term it would be 2 steps backwards - just don't go back Moyes and Everton should just stay history.

All this talk of getting a top class manager (someone even mentioned Mourinho) ... get real. Who would want to come here? Name names! As for people threatening to stay away, IMHO real fans support the team ... I was disgusted at the fan behind me at Anfield who spent the whole game teLling the players how [Poor language removed] they were. How does that help? I agree that Martinez must go, and a lot of our players look like they have lost the will to live, but how does yelling abuse at them help?

In much the same way as the vast majority, certainly on this forum, want to see RM gone... I would wager equally as big a majority do not want DM to be in any way re-appointed.

As The Esk stated earlier and I respect his views, DM is not even under consideration.

personally i would have Moyes back for many reasons. I think he deserves a chance to prove what he can do with Everton with investment. In my opinion with the exception of winning a trophy he took Everton as far as we could go with the budget available and transformed us from a losing team to a winning team. He also got LMA manager of the season on a few occasions, how many other managers can boast that.

The Utd job was always going to be tough for him and Sociedad he couldnt really speak the language so it was poor job choice. I think hes a top manager.

However given that a high percentage of the fan base are against this then that makes me feel it might be a bad idea because any new manager would need to be backed and feel supported in their role.
