Moyes patiently waiting...

Don't apologise you lunatic, thanks for posting the thread!
Why do you reckon it would be 4 steps back mate?

Been there done that. Not much to write home about. Crap against the bigger teams. I don't think we should go backwards as we've done enough of that over the last 2 seasons. Apparently we have some money now so let's use it and get a top manager in who knows how to attack and defend and spunk Moshiri's money on talent. That's all.

Agree with all of that.
Who would you prefer as the next gaffer?

Moyes is not winner, he is a steady manager. While in normal circumstances he would be a step up but I hope we are looking to be better than 5/6 type of team. However if it was a choice between Martinez and Moyes, even with all he has done, I would go Moyes.

I refuse to believe we bring in Moshiri and our first big change is bringing back Moyes. A man who for 3 years i wanted out of the club because it was horrible football. I've seen loads suggesting he comes back, am i the only one remembering how bad our football was?

If Moyes ever comes back as Everton manager i'm honestly done with the club. I'm not spending thousands a year on that.

You know, I can understand why people would claim him to be a good idea as Manager. Roberto has put us back squarely where we were when Moyes first came along.

Don't get me wrong, I'm firmly in the "No" camp on this, but top Managers aren't in the habit of saving clubs from relegation and would be unlikely to jump onboard at the moment. I could see BK thinking that getting Moyes in to get us back to top 10 top 6 or thereabouts before looking for a better Manager. Again, I wouldn't want us going down that path but, I can understand the thinking...if that is the case.

He hasnt put us back to the Walter Smith days! There are a lot of assets at the club right now that we didnt have in Smiths day. Some good players and players that are worth a lot of money.

Anyone taking us on this summer will be in a great position to push on. Obviously it needs work but at least there is something to work with.

David Moyes done a great job at Everton in terms of stability but his tactics are the complete opposite to Roberto Martinez' with similar end results. Moyes set us up not to lose at the likes of Old Trafford, The Emirates and Anfield yet had no plan to attack and more often than not, we come away with nothing. Martinez sets up to attack yet we can't defend. Bringing back Moyes is a backward step. God rest his soul but we shouldn't have taken back Kendall. That didn't work on those two occasions. Let's start afresh, it's the only way we can progress forward.

If that happened I would put all my shirts into storage and allow my kids to follow another team (under strict guidance obviously), until such time as the club sees sense and employs a proper manager.

I'd happily let him have a caretaker job, starting this morning, through to the end of the season but certainly no longer than that.
