As usual on here...and this isn't a criticism, its what a forum is about,there has been a lot of conjecture as to why Elstone has become a director. The simple fact is that those in 'authority' at Everton, pre and post Moshiri, probably have a different view of Elstone than those of us who are mere supporters and not involved in the business end of the club. We all have every right to an opinion, but 'the real business' is done by senior execs and directors, and Elstone has been closely involved with Everton business for some time,and must have the trust of those who count. It doen't mean Elstone won't be gone in 6 months, but it does mean that currently Moshiri intends surrounding himself with safe hands.

Not really but when it comes to crunch decisions if Moshiri had only one voice he could lose every time and potentiallu ose his investment very easily especially with not sitting on the board himself.

Therefore with two voices on the board the chairman would find it difficult to vote down the major shareholders voice. That would leave an awkward situation.

Moshiri as part of his due diligence would have assessed the board, senior management and its history

For me it's just Moshiri protecting his investment.

He sat on the board of directors, he was not a company director. He had the same influence and power within the board room as his fellow board members.

This is spot on. We also have to perhaps consider that Elstone himself may not have been the central cause of the problems? Maybe he did a good job but ultimately had his hands tied? Maybe Moshiri has had a good word said about him and feels with the right support around him he may be a valuable asset.

It could be any of the above, I suspect though that Moshiri is rightly going to give everybody a chance under his set up. I can't argue with that. It's the sort of cautious approach that will serve Everton well. Coming in and sacking open within a week or so of being ratified may make people seem like he's Alan Sugar, but in all honesty it just annoys people. I think it's a good sign he's given him a chance.

I won't be basing my views on the takeover as to whether Elstone stays or goes. There are far more important issues at hand.

wow... who are we really to question a highly successful individual , who runs multi million pound organisations and is well respected in many quarters. Only last week the man was praised for completing a highly , well thought out investment by market KOLs....

It brings into debate how opinions of some people are based on snip bits, social media and no actual knowledge of any dealings of any transactions whatsoever.

Let the professional do his job and we all concentrate on how to get to wembley and what we are having for our dinner tmrw.... getting more like RAWK everyday ....
