End of season fixture backlog - 3 away games to be rearranged

I can't see when else they would play their replay? Plus they have both missed a fixture this week, and they will both miss a fixture during semi finals week.

Next week is International break. The two weeks after that they have Europa league quarter finals. The next free week for their replay would be the same weekday as ours.

They could Schedule it for the Europa league week, but Uefa strongly object to that. Likewise there is still a chance United will go through and they are going to have to get something organised sharpish. I can't see them pencilling United in there only to have it cancelled if they pull off an unlikely win against Liverpoo.

Alternatively they could pencil it in later, but in all honesty I can't see the FA allowing them with the fixture backlog. United and West Ham are going to be 2 games behind (like us). We were in a very difficult situation too as a club. We should have probably tried to hardball and have had one of the other suspended fixtures in that week (ideally Palace away) as opposed to allowing the FA to once again award Liverpool their cup final victory against us. I couldn't see any way around not playing that weekend though.

Sorry, I was under the impression (because I looked on the BBC fixtures pages earlier after Everton had been given the derby on the 20th of April) that all the other semi finalists had a free weekday in the run up to the semis. The BBC hadn't put their fixtures in at that point.

I can see now that United are down to face Palace and Watford and West Ham are playing each other.

I wished I'd have know that about 3 hours ago, as I could have saved a lot of anguish to myself and irritation for others reading my hair on fire tosh!

A day without irritation and anguish here, is a day for which we all wish.

Nothing new there then. ;)

...and if they dont get past them?

Then they'll be playing a rearranged league game.

Apr 19/20 is a designated midweek date by the Premier League to play rearranged league games.

Basically whatever happens, our semi final opponents will also have a game in the midweek before the semi.

When Moyes surrendered prior to meeting the RS in the FA cup, I hated him with a vengeance as did many a supporter. This time however, because the RS will not be involved in the FA cup, I would be in favour of putting out the U21's side because you just know that those barstewards will attempt to kick our players off the pitch and their fans would just love to see Lukaku, Ross or Lennon get injured. The U21's will probably beat them anyway so let's treat them with the contempt they deserve.........

Don't need to take this derby seriously, a case of priorities, the semi final is the game to concentrate on. Use the squad and keep all those needed for the weekend fresh.

It was the Sunderland QF that Moyes rested players for.

I think we could put a decent enough team out whilst keeping 2/3 key players on the bench.

Would much rather it have been Palace 3 days before than them lot though

When are they going to fit the Palace game in?

It will either have to be on a midweek night where there are CL/Europa games going on (in which case it would possibly be a funny kick off time, like 7pm for Hull vs Arsenal was last week) or they'll have to play it on a Monday night, just 2 days after a Saturday game.

Team for the derby that rests up and wins:

--------------Howard (I know)

-----Stones Jagielka Galloway

--Coleman Besic Gibson Oviedo

------Deulofeu Mirallas Niasse

Bench made up of academy defenders plus Osman, Kone and Rodriguez.

...more than enough to hold them off and cause problems for them. And we mothball Lukaku, Lennon, Barkley, Baines (who I'm sure RM will want in - though not my choice, tbh), Cleverley, Robles, Funes Mori, Barry, McCarthy.
