A week into the new dawn:

Officially we have the same owners, directors and executive.
We have an unchanged stadium situation.
A commitment to keeping our best players and ambition to compete in the transfer market.

...I'm suggesting (right now, at least) we have a fistful of nothing.
He's not been signed off by the PL yet...

Shut up Dave

It's an accurate statement. As said 'at this stage' we have nothing we didn't have last week. I'm not sure where the wind up is in the context of others wondering what the delay is.
Factually incorrect David.

We have a new billionaire major shareholder who has pledged to invest into the club. We also have a reason to believe again. A fragment of hope.

That hope alone is a massive leap forward

After suffering our awful situation for many years I wiil drink to that.:pint2:

I remember when Nixon resigned...he said about his enemies/critics...'At least you won't have poor old Richard Nixon to kick any more'. Makes me wonder if Bill K isn't feeling a bit that way...........

Actually quite a lot has changed even though the formal process is not yet complete.

(i) club briefing to the press on transfer budgets for the summer
(ii) New developments at Finch Farm, something that Martinez has wanted for 2 years but not possible under the previous regime, now approved.
(iii) the announcement on season ticket pricing - further evidence of a fundamental shift in the club's thinking and approach to fan's issues.

All this before the formal process is complete.

It's not exactly an off the wall viewpoint.

Farhad Moshiri deal is exciting but things haven't changed yet says Barry Horne

It's potentially something of a new era at Everton were Farhad Moshiri buying a stake in the club but while that’s exciting I think that we must wait until he’s dotted all the is and crossed all the ts before seeing what his next move is. It’s a big story and will remain a big story but as things stand, not much has changed.

What's wrong in saying that? Do we all have to be Pollyannas chuffed at nothing at all happening?

It's a legitimate 'cool your heels' posting.

The big difference is that we can see something tangible in motion on the pitch...physically we see it coming together and progressing.

I'm sure there will be an announcement on changed ownership structure in the next couple of days. But that would only cover one of the three points I raised.

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating:

First job: get new major shareholder in and let's hear his own words about a plan for the future

Second job: reasonably big net spend in the summer

Third job: get contracts signed on a stadium deal (redevelopment or new build

Nobody would argue with that. But it was announced less than 7 days ago and has not yet been confirmed by the PL. Having your nose out of joint about us having nothing at the moment is like having a go at the manager for not improving results during the close season. At this point it would be foolish for the club or the new owner to start mouthing off until everything is official.

I used to think it was Bill you had a problem with, Dave, but starting to think it's just whoever runs the club regardless of who they are.

It'll come soon enough mate. We're all keen to hear his plans, signing players and see a new stadium on the docks......but it's been a week and still going through the approvals loop. Give the lad a chance.....at least the new season ticket pricing is waking people up......poor old RAWK are both envious and dismissive in equal doses.....THEY know that things will be changing, you can almost smell the fear............

Regardless of what you think of Bill, a lack of brain cells is not really an issue with a man who has become a multi millionaire through his theatre business.
Bill's still there with his legacy of failure Tom, was thinking about Earl's departure. Moshiri is a multiple upgrade on either though.;)

He'll get more money than he can count out of this, it makes his theatre business look like a hobby. I'm sure he's fine.

Martinez has clearly said he's got a bigger budget

That = change

Moshiri can't spell out his thoughts to the fanbase as he's not been ratified by the PL yet. However, his plans have obviously been made clear internally hence the managers comments.

To start stamping your feet as he's not spelt out his vision yet, and to state nothing has changed already, is both peevish and factually incorrect.

Earl was always a pariah at the club. Was only ever there for the money and we all knew it. As soon as Kirkby went tits up his interest was gone. Bill has taken the brunt of the anger and bitterness as he's one of us and always there in the forefront. Meanwhile Earl and his sizeable chunk of the club has sat quietly out of the firing line waiting to cash in his chips.

With that now done and a new investor in place, fingers crossed, we, as a club, can start to move forward and put the last 15 or so years to bed and reunite the club and it's fanbase. Only time will tell but I'm hopeful the halcyon days of the mid eighties will be upon us once more. And soon.

Onwards and upwards Evertonians.
