We should be excited, but I think we need to temper expectations.

We now look to have a backing/resource that'll allow us to make the next step, which is some genuine ambition and finding some consistency to break into that top 4.

Lets start there. Top 4 as an expectation, rather than a outside chance.

Defo this. I think people see the word Billionaire and assume we'll be doing a City or Chelsea.

While it is great news for Everton, most of the owners in the league are Billionaires, it doesn't automatically mean we're going to be handing out £250k per week contracts.

We need to invest off the pitch mainly, not on it. We are swanning around with 20 goals a season strikers and 50 million pound defenders and then crying investment?

I'd rather us put the capital into turning us into a club with dodgy loans and selling everything we own and build some sort of business that generates money and publicity. May be then we can think about spending loads on the pitch,

Nah, the lack of investment has hindered the club. It's all good having a 30 goal a season striker but how do you think other players react when they know he may be out the door come the summer? Same with stones, we are talking about having to discuss the strategy of the club in terms of investment etc to even consider keeping him. League position and CL exposure generates mula, not to mention the sky deal. Let's bloody spend it.

Remember we are Everton first and foremost and then never forget that !

Do it properly and do it right - our current squad means we are not exactly building from the ground but it is those sort of principles we should stick by. Splashing a load of cash on big time Individuals does not necessarily pay off.

Best thing about Moshiri is that his account is likely to be registered in Monaco, so we can spend what we would be spending on tax on new players! Sweet!

Neither, in 50yrs time I want to sit in the space where Goodison once stood, with a brick from the Gwladys st in one hand and a signed photo of Bill in the other, tear rolling down my cheek as I think of how proud I am that although we don't exist anymore... at least we never 'sold our soul' back in the day!

On a serious note... The only way to move forward is to have massve investment, but as others pointed out we won't be bankrolled immediately with a Robinho-esque signing.

So slow and steady is the way... with a title at the end of it! None us know for sure but one thing I can say, I'm looking forward to the journey a lot more than I was this time last week!

We really don't need to spend huge amounts or a shed load of players, just need to tie down those we have a and buy a keeper (Butland) a play maker to back Barkley up or to give him a rest and another striker .
And let's keep Martinez, he deserves one more season (though I know that that's a 50/50 split with fans)

"Buying a title" isn't as easy as it sounds, as many clubs have demonstrated. Now, with financial resources available, is the true test of leadership in the front office and on the pitch. I quite like Roberto as a manager, but we'll see how he manages a real opportunity to build a squad that will compete for Top 4 and Europe. This is actually where, I think, the real challenge begins.

At the beginning of the next season I turn 28 and I've never seen us win anything so I would have no qualms about us buying the league.

I don't think we'll have quite that much money but a few quality signings and retaining the gems like Lukaku and Barkley and who knows?

In the wake of all the good news regarding Mr. Farhad Moshiri, would we be happy to 'buy' a league title or would you want to do it the 'safe way', i.e cautious spending and slower progress? We're all a bit guilty of looking at the likes of Chelsea and Man City and muttering under our breaths "But they bought that title".

Hand on heart, will you be saying the same if we do the same?

After all, can you imagine picking up a title before the RS?!

Just curious is all.

Me personally, I'd go with buy a title, I've been waiting long enough and let's be honest, 1.2 billion pounds is A LOT of money :)

The difference being that they barely had a history of success before having a massive leg up to it.

No one can say Everton didn't pay their dues in that respect.
