Its not much money really and we would get it back if we sold him on easily....hed have been a priority for me....

Tarashaj £3.5mil
Niasse £13.5mil
Dembele £6mil

less naismith £8.5mil we would have spent £14.5mil on 3 players where we need competition and cover...on paper would make sense and then have the pot of TV money ready for a new keeper and also a big signing in summer.

Im not fussed about immediate signings to come in NOW but more about what we have in summer to really push on next season.

we wont do much with Howard in goal....and i think to be honest if we had got rid of Howard then this place would have gone into meltdown with positivity.

In short, build up the squad and then get in a top keeper and one Xfactor player in summer.

Just don't think we could have afforded to buy two players just to send them back on loan plus spend 13.5 on another striker and whatever money Matty Foulds cost. Surprised we spent as much as we did this window as it is.
 
Wonder where this now leaves Mirallas.

Surprised he didnt leave in summer...amazed he didnt leave this window and so surely he has to be off in the summer.

He will need games to get into belgiums squad and with niasse signing im not sure he will get them....we need him this season though while niasse beds in.

Such a strange situation as hes class but doesnt fit for martinez.

£8.5mil for naismith + £50mil if we get top 8 (ADDITIONAL) tv revenue.

im surprised clubs havent done this more now as in summer fees will be insane.

It was a daft call, he's been sulking since last summer and playing like a drain. They've been offered over £21m for him this window and he's knocked it back, and now he'll be into the last months of his contract come the summer.

His stock is unlikely to have risen by then either. Probably cost his club about £10m that 'principled stand'.

I actually think he was going to get a a run then got injured again, I still think Martinez will chop and change Mirallas and Deloufeu quite regularly, Deloufeu does a lot of running and he does tire in a lot of games.
