Just getting someone who is a bit better than tim would be a setback. Signing someone like Marshall won't get us anywhere.

I never mentioned Marshall. All I'm saying is in my opinion Martinez hasn't got the luxury of waiting until the summer, he's already on thin ice with most people.

Keeper should have been a priority even before this window. He should never of allowed this situation to develop.

I used Marshall as an example of the quality that would be available midseason, is that the kind of quality we need for the next 3-4 years? It doesn't matter he's on thin ice with the fans, the board won't sack him especially with the uncertainty of a takeover.

I am sure there is options better than Howard but me personally I'd rather the manager got the player he wanted and not a stop gap who's better than Howard.

For example if he's after someone like Nyland and believes he can get him for 6 million in the summer but they won't sell now why settle on spending 6 million on Marshall for a short term gain only to be stuck with him in the summer.
Yes If Joel Robles would have had a proper deserved run in the team we would know now do we need a no 2 or a better no 1 Keeper- Instead of RM wasting the space by using Tim Howard!

I can understand this line of thinking if you think he's on thin ice, then maybe he could do something to save his job however I don't think he's on thin ice at all with the people that matter with regards to his future here and I'd much rather he did what is right for the long term success fo our club and not himself.

Which would be to prioritise a new keeper,no?
