Tim Howard

Almost like he had a point to prove. You reckon Roberto had a word and told he's not been as phenomenal as he could be recently?
Rather, I think he's realised that firstly he won't go on forever, and secondly that Robles may be the man to dislodge him - previously he's been up against (and I mean no disrespect to these) Mucha, Carlo Nash and Wessels etc.

Hardly raising his game to keep those out was he? Now he has a real rival to his #24 shirt - and it's the Everton #1.

Credit where credit is due. TH played very well today. Some very good saves and was quick to close down angles. he made a great play punching a ball in the first half right off someone's boot just outside the six yard box. 8/10 performance

Surprise, surprise. As soon he feels his place in the team is under serious threat he goes out and has a worldly. Players need to feel threatened if they're going to perform at their best. Being constantly reassured that won't be dropped now matter how many howlers you make is not healthy.

I've been a critic very recently...

But tonight even Superman will be wearing Tim Howard pyjamas!

Great saves all game to shut everybody up including me for a bit haha. Well in Tim.

A few little nervy moments of miscommunication, but a string of absolutely brilliant saves. Hats off, hopefully Joel's form is pushing him on to some better performances.

Its his annual performance...

He now has competition and wants to play in the cup and get a medal....pretty clear also after robertos comments that he wasnt sure howard would be here in the summer...

Put a bit of effort in, no conincidence.

I even see bravery, yes BRAVERY, in one instance where he came out and punched the ball away, could've easily been clattered by the City player. Amazing scenes.
