Again when I say out wide I mean not fully central ala Rom, Kone basically plays "out wide" on the left but he actually plays somewhere in between, hence why Baines is left isolated often. We never play with a true left wide player.

....I wouldn't mind so much if he as scoring consistently but Kone isn't adding much on that front. I'd prefer a solid team shape but that's just me.

I'd be ok with it in two scenarios
1.) Kone was actually a consistently quality player and made them take notice of his movement thus shifting their shape with his movement.
2.) Barkley was disciplined enough to be able to drop in (effectively) when Cleverley and Barry shift left to cover Kone.

Even reading that back I don't think #1 warrants the confusion it causes to our defensive shape.
