I am a bit 'emperor has no clothes' regarding Stones. He's decent, but the new generation of defenders are all ball players. I'd sell at 40 million in a heartbeat.

He'll make the odd mistake, but that's the risk of building from the back, every player will occasionally misplace a pass/lose possession.

I am not sure why but even though he still makes the odd mistake we do not seem to be punished from them as often this season.

..at the risk of being vaulted, it's hard to see him going in January. I suspect part of the 'pain' last summer was some diplomacy from RM regarding wait another year and see where the club is at that stage. we'll soon find out.

Would be utter madness for both the club and Stones to move in January, we barely have any fit right sided CBs as it is with the Jags/Browning/Pennington injuries and John is trying to get into the Euro squad.

Which doesn't completely rule it out, certainly not as far as the press are concerned
