Stalin is my role model for modship.
We wanna be free! We wanna be free to vote what we wanna vote. We wanna be free to poll. We wanna be free to poll without being hassled by The Mod! ... And we wanna get loaded. And we wanna vote in polls. And that's what we are gonna do. We are gonna have a good time... We are gonna have a party....without Tim Droppy ball.

But in the meantime I'll probably just threadban you

Stalin would approve.

A few years ago I'd have said Howard was a decent 7/10 keeper. Now he's either 6 or 5 out of 10.

The reason he's still our number 1 keeper is down to how much it would cost to bring in an 8 or 9 out of 10 keeper. I think you all need to resign yourself that he won't be replaced this season and the Summer will hopefully see some movement.

about right that...here's hoping Joel gets a run before we headhunt a world-class keep in the summer.

Joel Robles has made 22 appearances for us in the last 2+ seasons. That's far more than most backup keepers get, and definitely enough to say he's not an upgrade over Howard. Everything bad we say about Howard can be applied to Robles, with the addition of him not being a terribly good shot stopper.

It wasn't his fault we lost yesterday, he was just as rank as the rest of them. But in the last two games especially, the difference really has been the two keepers.

Against Liverpool, Mignolet makes two brilliant saves while Howard becomes invisible for a corner landing three inches away. Yesterday De Gea did the same, excellently thwarting us during a solid 20 minutes of genuine pressure, before Howard dived out of the way to let the goal in that ended the game.

I shudder to think how many more points we would have picked up since the start of last season if he was competent.

Mad how 90% of the Everton fan base can see he's clearly rank, yet his fanboys are still convinced that they're right
I'm convinced he was no stage to blame for that abject performance yesterday. I am also convinced he is playing better this season than last. Is it a position we need to strengthen definitely.

Of course he wasn't to blame, we deserved to get thumped and we did. However the fact remains that he's crap and concedes pathetic goals

Bottom line his errors like last season will cost the team at least minimum 10 points this season.

He's not being making regular mistakes and we're a quarter of the way through the season and have only been beaten twice. Every player was below their usual standard last season shall we keep comparing every mistake people make with last season?

Focus on what's happening now and judge them on each performance.

Im not that much of a Howard knocker and I don't really think he was to blame as much as other players yesterday but I still think we need a better goalkeeper. Although I don't think we will get one as Martinez has shown loyalty to Howard and I think he will carry on doing that.
But if he was to go what would our options be

Joel Robles: In my opinion not good enough either. He has a nice smile but has a mistake in him, 3 clean sheets in 3 games doesn't mean he is a good enough goalkeeper it just means our defence had good games.

David Marshall: Gone under the radar in the past 12 months and was linked with a move to WBA in the summer but nothing happened. Was great the season Cardiff were in the prem but is that just because he had a lot of practise? Big commanding presence though

David Ospina: A good goalkeeper but very similar to Howard a few years ago. Good shot stopper but dosent command his box well enough, im neither here nor their with him

Loris Karius: Not seen enough of him to make a judgement. What I have seen is he is more your Neur style keeper than a De Gea. I think buying german keepers will become the "in" thing to do soon (Trapp at PSG, Ters Degen at Barca). So we may have some competition for this guy
