It's as plain as a pikestaff. He's pining for the Black Forrest, and all he's getting is a walk in Sefton Park dodging attacks from pit bulls.

Hands down you are my favourite poster on here.

To be honest - as I half hoped and suggested - if he had spent the weekend reading anything on RAWK he would have gone yesterday.

But if they should fold tamely at Spurs....

Being fair Dave mate, the last season for Klopp at Dortmund no manager would have been able to have finished more than 7th with the sheer amount of injuries they had - and a lot of them to key players, could argue a strong case it effected them even more due to the nature of Klopp preferring a very small first team squad of 15-16 players as well which meant when injuries told the depth behind was way down in ability

Also that system requires a hell of a lot of drilling so can't exactly slot in 3-4 new players without it creaking badly

Still no guarantee how he will do over in England though - or how well he himself will settle and be able to deal with the media - who are far more vicious and intrusive than their German counterparts

The thing is though, as soon as the roof caved in Klopp wanted out by asking Dortmund to end his contract early, even though he still had 3 years remaining, shows the man wasn't up for the fight, and he's got a bigger job to do at the redshite than he would have had at Dortmund.

What I would like to know is how is Clippety going to improve the likes of Skirtel, Sahko, Allen etc - what is he going to do that hasn't already been tried and found out? The rs are wetting themselves over players such as Reus, Lewandowski being signed....in your dreams boys. Going to be like a religious revival at their next home game......

The words 'Look At Me" should be emblazoned on their badge. They're a world away from the glory days of the 70s and 80s.

I have no idea if Klopp can get them back as serious PL contenders - I think not - but it's a massive road back for them. In fact, looking at them from a historical perspective, it's clear now that they are a club that crammed almost all their major success into 17 years (73-90). Prior to that point and after it (105 years out of 123) they were non-descript also rans or (lately) picking up the odd trophy the elite of English football weren't fiercely intent on securing (FA Cup, LC, Uefa Cup).

It's really no wonder now that all they have left is to scream and jump up and down and hope someone mentions them in passing.

Yes. It is sad just how much they want to be recognised. I put it down to their out of town support really, desperately wanting to be part of something bigger and eulogising both the city and the football club into being something it's not.
The Local reds just get carried along with it and are increasingly the cannon fodder for the buffoonery and neurosis. They are very willing participants in it mind. It's what happens when you whore your club out to the point it loses it's soul. The out of owners dominate that clubs hegemony now.

And yes they don't carry themselves with any assurance whatsoever. It is startling really the desperation they have.

As for the rest, yes once you remove that period their trophy cabinet looks rather bare. 7 leagues, 4 Fa Cups and a Uefa Cup (when it did;t matter) and a flukey champions league. Essentially the same as us if you remove the league titles and cups from our Golden era in the most war area.

The 26 years thing does drag on though. They are fast becoming a Huddersfield and are going to start seriously accepting the fact that they may never win the league again.

They spooked their own team two season's back and lost them the league with all their premature triumphalism. They'll sicken this feller Klopp. He'll be repulsed by their cultish intensity.

I do feel sorry for him a bit. Imagine having that psychotic crew looking in your bins and taking selfies with you when you're on the bog trying to have a turkish delight in peace.

I'm afraid I think Klopp might lapp all that up. I can't make my mind up on Klopp yet. Part of me thinks the guys a winner and will not like all the sideshow stuff.

The other part of me thinks he has basically been found out. He knows if he plays the buffoon he'll get 7 million quid a year out of Liverpool. He can whistle at the Cult the right way and get at least 3 1/2 years (like Rodgers did who was a complete no Mark). Pick a fight with Van Gaal and he'll get 5 on top money. All he has to do is play their game.

Eventually he will get binned off as he was when he left Mainz and after he left Dortmund. He won't mind though as he will have bled them of 7 million quid a year. He'll blame it on FSG who haven't backed him and hope enough of the buffoons will remain loyal to pressure him into another stable job.

This way he gets to avoid taking the top job, which in all honesty he doesn't look fit for. For all this "top 5 manager in the world" (as if he's in the same league as Anceloitti, Guardiola, Enrique & Mourinho) he has been found out and I think he knows deep down he'd not be able to manage a top team. If top teams wanted him why didn't Real Madrid snap him up over a washed up failure that is Benitez?

Where it's win win for Klopp is if he surpasses what looks the likely outcome and overachieves at Liverpool he can just leave them in the summer to go to a big club like Bayern. Liverpool is a nice experiment for him. If he fails he can sit sucking money out of them. If he succeeds he gets to go to a big club. Win win.
