said it in another thread klopp is a massive gamble for them in every sense.

There is the chance the gamble pays off, hell proof is in his previous job where he kinda did really well there. There is the chance he could be terrible, which id rather go with.

But i'd be lying if i said i woudn't want klopp at everton so there you go.

Why would we? We have Roberto Martinez.

It's questionable to try to predict how he is going to do without seeing him in action in a different environment with a different group of players. If someone had browsed a Dortmund forum or two last year, it would have been obvious as to the source of dissatisfaction with Klopp ... he was a single minded manager with one style of play and an inability to shift gears in the middle of a game or when confronted by injuries. In the years before that, he was put on a pedestal by the same people that took him to task last year. If he turns out to be a failure, it probably won't have anything to do with coming from the Bundesliga, it may have to do with his lack of adaptability if Dortmund fans are accurate.

Did he leave Dortmund as a Champions League side? No. He had them playing Thursday night football just like our flag waving song singing exhibitionist friends in Shyteland.

The goofy looks, the poor dress sense, the hipster beard, all the stuff that attracts the camera.....none of them got Dortmund - a giant - into the Champs League last year.

He'll be a Wenger or indeed a Guardiola who has added nothing to bayern, a few great years playing a style that is then figured out and too arrogant/closed minded to change it. The best of Klopp has already been seen.

LOL @ this thread.

And we wonder why we get called bitter.

This really. If he was about to manage us people would be made up.

But as he's going there people are jealous and very bitter so finding anything negative they can. Sad really.

Which is pretty much the point of the thread. Keep all the vaulting material in one place ;)

Klopp is a good manager, and I'm sad he's gone to Liverpool. I think he will do a good job for them. It is worth putting a few caveats around that

However Liverpool's squad right now is a mess, much like Spurs was at the end of last year. It has a mixture of new-age dribbly CBs (Sakho) with no-nonsense orcs (Skrtel) a midfield with one winger (Ibe, who has gone backwards) a lot of engineroom runners, a surfeit of luxury playmakers and strikers parked out on the wings. This isn't including a lot of people on loan.

First thing he'll have to do is get rid of a lot of players, which will take time - took Spurs ages to get rid of Chiriches, Adebayor, Assou-Ekkoto, Paulinho, Soldado, Naughton, Stambouli etc etc - and work out which ones will fit his system. Unlike Spurs Liverpool's academy is half-baked at best with only a few players coming through. There are easily 10 players who need to be moved on (Lovren, Ilori, Balotelli, Lallana, Allen, Markovic, Enrique, Toure, Flanagan who is perma crocked, Origi etc.)

Klopp's team also typically work with heavy pressing and quick counter attacks. This was relatively novel when it was first introduced in 2008-12 but is standard now for mid-table teams who want a result away (Palace, West Ham, even Leicester). So teams will know what to do when facing it. Also, are you going to have Sturridge doing heavy pressing? It's physically intense which could mean more injuries to a team. When bringing in new players Klopp has always worked with a director of football who he will not have the same link to.

He's a good manager but expectations are very high and all the environment that was set up for him in Dortmund does not exist now. It's a totally different situation and I think success will need 2-3 years and he'll probably lose Coutinho this year as well to Barca
