Computer games.

Just took some time out, first time I've gamed for a while... and won 10 straight games on Hearthstone.

I've barely won two before so this is truly remarkable stuff.

smite is the best anyway.
Add me on that, m1ki4i. I'll go online in the next few days probably, kinda packed schedule for now sadly.

Hearthstone is a game I never understood. I don't mean I don't understand the mechanics - I don't understand how it got so famous.

Relaxing casual game, playable across multiple devices, with an inbuilt fan base of the lore with a very well developed Freemium business model - and slickly designed too.

For the type of game it is, it's high quality stuff.

No, see, I get that. But people actually watch tournaments, and I mean like hundreds of thousands of people - it's a boring as hell spectator sport, personally, so that's what baffles me about its popularity, if that makes sense.

Likewise to be honest lol

@chicoazul looks like one of those people on Theme Hospital with a massive head that go in to the inflation room to get it popped so a normal sized one can grow back.

I love it but I have no real clue what I'm doing.

I just seem to make terrible decisions and send off random numbers of soldiers to die horribly even though they outnumber the enemy 10/1.

I did kill a bear or something once though, so that's nice.

That is the great thing about it, I have been playing it for years and still get sucked in to the madness.

Last night the current ruler of Mercia (though by now he is ruler of all England, all Wales, Scotland below the Antonine Wall and about 40% of Ireland) took part in one of those rare crusades where an entire kingdom is up for grabs (Andalusia). He was the first one to muster an all-kingdom army, which proceeded to be shipped to Compostela, only to cut to bits by an Ummayyad army of about the same size. He fumed back to Blighty, only to discover on continuing it today that all of Christendom arrives about six months later, and now the Reconquista has been completed by 1004.

Of course this is CK2, so my only son turns out to be gay, and the middle-French promoted an anti-Pope that led to all manner of religious discord - but a couple years more war, combined with a lusty genius Byzantine princess solved both issues for the moment.

I love stories like that from Civ and CK because they sound half like something that could've happened in real life, and half absolute nonsense at times.

Like Gandhi being the most evil [Poor language removed] ever in Civ, etc.

Had it almost 2 years in a £500 rig and still serves my needs.

I noticed my dual 600 series was coming to the end of high performance lifetime this year so I went for a 900 series the top one currently.

You get about two years. Then I'd say they move into the "good performance band". Two years after that average/poor and you need an upgrade.
