John Stones transfer saga

Do you want a player at the club who doesnt want to be there?? In a position where he is required and we have no other cover.

Imagine the moment he makes an error (which he does)... he will be slaughtered, the crowd will be on his back and he would be under the microscope, one missed clearance leading to a goal - "he doesnt want to be here".

I dont want him to go, i didnt want him to hand in a transfer request - but i do not want a player here who doesnt want to play for the club.

There have been lots of players who've wanted a move, been denied it and have continued to play... Ronald's at Manu, Goofy across the park, Schneiderlin at Saints to name but three.

Its not that Stones 'does not want to be here.' Its more a case of Stones is so confused he doesn't know were he wants to be.Everton just need to take charge and say simply.' Request rejected' We know you'll be professional about this. You have a contract.'

The thing is, chelsea don't exactly value the development of it's young players do they? I can't really think of anyone in their squad who they had to develop so much.

All of the players are only here for the money, I don't care if he wants to be here or not, he is a very well paid professional under contract. I've got no sympathy for Footballers. Handing in a transfer request is an easy way out. He signed a long term contract not long ago, so clearly isn't unhappy, he just wants even more at Chelsea. If he stays, he'll have to prove himself again to the supporters - and I don't have a problem with that.

The alternative is to let him go, confirm ourselves as a mid-table club with no future and no faith in Martinez's vision, while satisfying the demands of the Chelsea's and Man City's of this world.

I'm guessing we said to Chelsea 'he's not for sale.'

We said to Stones 'you're not for sale.'

Stones said 'I want to leave.'

We said 'if you do, then hand in a transfer request, and don't make it the last week of the window.'

He's almost certainly going to leave. His position is untenable now I think. Hopefully we get two defenders in by Tuesday. Move on.
Get in a physical no nonsense centre-back,four clean sheets on the bounce.John who??

Ronaldo and Suarez where begged for one last season, and where going to go for world record or close to it transfers. Schneiderlin if you remember sulked for a while and it took him a bit to get his head back into it, this was based on the fact southampton had sold everyone to the redshite and again was begged.

I agree there has been lots of players where they have had requests and stayed for a season. We don't have the luxury of them squads, or the money to be able to reinvest like southampton.

let me clarify i dont want him to go... but i also dont want someone who doesnt want to play for the club in the team.

Make what Stones said to a lad I know, seem a bit weird now.

"Come to Old Trafford John"

"I will do if they want me"

"Do they want you?"

"No"

I thought that was just a bit of a joke, but maybe he just wants out to anywhere.

If we really don't want to sell like they've been saying why haven't they refuse the request or made some sort of statement to clarify things yet.

They want the money, that's the only way they can fund Roberto in the transfer market, shameful

I don't think the powers that be would be too happy if we had a player sat on the bench all season, devaluing, who we refused a large amount for. I can't see an alternative ending at the moment.

Despite the request, I honestly couldn't see Stones not wanting to play all season.
