John Stones transfer saga

Except Bobby will definitely be asked about it live on Sky at the Barnsley match. The board need to get behind him and take some of the pressure off of him, he is clearly already hacked off with this nonsense and the board apparently (as they don't seem to do anything) employ people to liase with the press. So, they should get their fingers out and get liasing. We've let Chelsea control the narrative for too long we need to start feeding the press an alternative.

And Bobby simply needs to respond that neither he nor anyone at Everton FC will speak publicly about John ?Stones until after the window has closed... Simples !!

Remember when we sold a 10 goal a season defensive partner to a local rich club on the basis we couldn't replace him?

Silvan Distin disagrees with that. So yeah Stones can be replaced in the team, have done before, can do again.
When Rooney was sold how did we splash those funds Marcus Bent? { who turned out to be a gem} No big money players I can think of?

You can't keep a player who has handed in a transfer request !!
Of course you can if you want to keep him. He still needs to play to progress his career and get in the England team. The question really is whether the money we'd get would improve the squad overall or whether it would screw up the squad and season. My opinion is that it is too late to sell. Keep him for another year and do it properly.

My eyes are wide open. Think your the blinkered one pal. Defending at all costs=blinkered=you.

Haha - perfect proof. If you even bothered to read my post I wasn't even defending Kenwright, but because I referred to him as 'Bill' you immediately mark me as 'one of them'. This is the pathetic reaction that blights this kind of forum. You can't - or rather won't - see beyond the end of your nose.

Do we still get 20% off the sell on fee?

brilliant point. i've always wondered about this. if we're the ones to buy him back, the fee paid will never be a true reflection anyway.

Didn't RM say he wasn't for sale even if he put ins transfer request? So nothing has changed and there is no need to say anything about it. Him or his agent can say whatever they like he is contracted for another 4+years and until Everton receive a bid that they think is enough, there is nothing else to say!

this is the point. why is everyone asking the club to come out and make a statement? what are they going to say? just confirm that he's handed one in. we've already stated that it won't change anything, so why make an issue of it. i said before, we should just act like nothing's changed.

why should we now be prepared to accept a much lower bid i.e. £35m range. he's still employed by us for a long time and we still want to keep him unless a massive fee is offered - that's always been the case.

i don't see why we should cash in now, he'll still do his job for us until we sell.

I don't think it will be any way detrimental.

We roll over here and we have worse to come next year when Rom decides it is time he moved on.

A line needs to be drawn in the sand.

And you kniw what?

I think it will be.
Rom scores +20 in the Prem and he's gone, don't doubt it.......sadly
