John Stones transfer saga

I find it hard believe that we supposedly have no cash left. Last season was the first year of the new TV deal, in which we received an extra 30million compared to 12/13. We receive an extra 30 million this year as well, compared to before the TV deal. We then have one more year of this TV deal, before the money goes totally insane at the end of the 17/18 season.

If we have no money, then we have supposedly spent an extra 60 million over the past 12 months, which I don't believe is true no matter how many extra millions you want to add to the Gareth Barry deal which was completed last year. How were they planning on buying Yarmolenko if there is no money left? And they plan on building a new stadium as well? We haven't waxed out an extra 60 million in the last 12 months!

i wonder how they are planning on paying? Nothing to do with a transfer request being handed in before we have even signed this mori (who has been delayed annoucment since th weekend going on martinez's own comments)

the club planned to spend the stones money, problem was, chelsea didnt come back again and the board then panicked

It is amazing isn't it. Even as an Everton fan with decades of experience of this I'm shocked.

If they aren't saving for the stadium something criminal must be going on - the only reason I don't think that would be happening is because enough of the board are rich men who wouldn't allow it and the amount would be a drop in the ocean to them. But it must be going somewhere?

As for Yarmolenko? Exactly. If this is the reason why we lose out on him then it really is a scandal.

In what way has martinez been backed?

In his first summer, he signed kone for 5, alcaraz free, robles nominal, del loan, and didnt sign anyone else until.......He sold Fellaini.

Second summer, lukaku- installments deal (fair enough), besic, couple of million, barry free, galloway youth, henan youth and then..................nothing else.

Third summer, cleverly free, delefeu 4 million (expensive loan deal potentially) holgate 1 million, and then...............nothing until we sell stones

We are doing the opposite of backing martinez mate, we are actually making very limited funds available unless he sells his spine of the team.

Tecnically, the season before we brought in £40m in sales, and spent £20m... so there was £20m in the coffers, which offset the lukaku season spending.

If the lad stays he can't cry. He has signed a contract with the football club and we don't wan't to sell. He should be focussed on the euro's where he will be selected if he plays regularly at this club.

Case closed. But of course, those snakes in the media are probably bringing the jelly and ice cream to Stamford Bridge. Whoppers.

Right OK, do we not pay wages to these players? We also got McGeady which (understandably) everyone seems to forget. Also lets not forget that pretty much every major player we have have received new deals, these pay rises and new contracts dont come free either.

Quite simply we spend what we can. The transfer window isnt closed yet either!

But....other teams have created positivity and varying amounts of optimism in their support by showing ambition, and common sense, by being more prepared before the season starts, building momentum, we, on the other hand, consistently underwhelm our supporters, no ambition, no plan.

Other teams spend what they can because they maximise their business potential, very simply, we don't, as a business we are totally inept and incompetent.

Is there a particular reason you didn't just write "Lukaku - 28M"?
because it is paid over time, and the fee wasnt 28 as such, we had the loan fee included in that and the fact the deal is set up to pay over a few years.

So we didnt spend 28 million, but credit where credits due the deal was great considering who it was for

Its time the Everton board make a statement as to whats going on. Fuming here.

Could it just, possibly, be that RM has thrown a blanket around Stones to try to understand exactly why he has put in the request now, what has turned his head, what could we do to convince him to stay and play, and then give him a night to sleep on it - all out of the goldfish bowl, and without playing this out in public just to satisfy the curiosity of needy people who have an axe to grind against the club?

Why does that seem so unreasonable to people?

The loan fee wasn't included.

People talking about wages; we got rid of many of our top earners when Fellaini, Moyes, Neville, Eto and Distin left. We get an extra 60 million over two years, every other club is spending, but not Everton, no they're carrying on as if they're just as skint as they were in 2010.
