John Stones transfer saga

My guess is that a transfer request was part of an orchestrated process which changes the way I which any fee is accounted for and in the end will mean little difference to the player or indeed any buying club or indeed selling club but will change the sums paid to any other entity that has an interest in any transfer
Agreed, it would be naive to think that major deals in business, particularly in the non transparent murky world of football are not done without side payments outside the official transaction to facilitating entities. I wonder who they could be ?

As I said, I don't really disagree with you, but it is still not relevant to the point I was making.
Why would John Stones put in a request and be classed as a Judas by the fans if it is the board that want to sell him?

Cos people are hurting and want someone to blame mate

It's easier to blame John Stones for his perceived disloyalty than it is to contemplate that our board has been misleading us for weeks on end

Indulge me here, cos maybe I am being thick, but are we meant to believe that Kenwright has asked John Stones to put in a transfer request so that he can get all the stick from the fans instead of kenwright, and Stones agreed?

Why would he do that?

That is PRECISELY what I'm saying.

@davek tell him dave as he's obviously. Not been paying attention to your posts

Read the above....

As I said in an earlier post by so doing you change the way In which a fee is arranged . It could be beneficial to everyone bar any club that hash secondary interest in the transfer & the PFA transfer fund and of course to a degree will water down the negative press Everton will get from local press & supporters of the club

The Baines/Fellaini bid was negated with a statement. A definitive statement. Not the wishy washy, let it all go on in the background style defiance we've had here.
12 August Roberto Martinez "I have said before the player is not for sale and that is the end of it,"
21 August Asked if a transfer request would force the issue, Martinez said: 'No. When you got a long-term contract those things don't change at all.
23 August - John Woods "I won’t sell him, Bill won’t sell him"

I know there are a lot more of these "wishy washy" statements but CBA looking for them

Why not blame the idiot with the phone and Woods for opening his mouth once in a Blue Moon and saying something that maybe antagonised Stones in some way into changing his mind!!

Repeating my post from earlier in this thread, I concur. Everton had 28mio of debt maturing in the May 2015 year. Assume paid off and you get the following cash flows

Bank Balance open 18mio
Cash from 2015 ops 20 mio
Debtors money received 30mio
Creditor monies paid (10 mio)
Lukaku payment (12mio)
Barry (plus odds and sods) (5mio)
Finance costs (4mio)
Debt Repayment (28 mio)
Cash from 2016 ops to date (0)
Deulofeu (4mio)
Sth American guys (5 mio)

Overall (Bank Balance now) NIL

So any body coming in post these latin american blokes was either going to have to be a loan, or funded from fresh debt

Everyone is an accountant (n)

Today should be interesting. It was almost embarrassing how the club stuck it's head in the sand after the news broke yesterday (i think West Brom responded within the hour after the news about Berhaino was released). Today they can't avoid it.
These next 6 days will define Martinez's time as Everton manager - it was also be the boards.

A bit a rational thinking.... Stones is a serious talent no doubt, that's why Chelsea have done all they can to create this situation but losing a defender no matter how exceptional will have far less affect on our team than losing a Lukaku or Barkley say. We still leaked goals for fun last season and that was with Stones in the side most of time. If he is allowed to leave we can't replace him like for like but we can improve the team overall if the board give Martinez the funds and he spends wisely. You would hope that with this situation brewing for a month we have already identified possible targets (wishful thinking i'm sure but heck i'm trying to not let Everton ruin another day)
Whether he stays or goes we need to make a decision, act now and try as best we can to come out of this as strong as possible.

It's very simple really. The board rejects the transfer request like Man Utd rejected Rooney's request in 2013.
Do that and we know if it's Stones or the board.

Roberto is in a new job and I am sure he will get to understand how Everton work. I know exactly how Everton work." - D.Moyes

Fair enough, you've convinced me. I am now wondering how the conversation went

BK - Hey John, I don't want to look bad to the fans so would you mind putting in a transfer request so that I come out smelling of roses and you look like a complete Judas?
JS - No thanks Bill, I am happy here
BK - Please?
JS - Oh ok then, where do I sign

More depressing news!! Back to bed I go maybe I will wake up later and all the latest news will be a dream.
