John Stones transfer saga

That will help no one. Without investment which is obvious the board aren't providing we actually need the money.

It will help me.....and thousands more like me.

Our club is being walked on by Chelsea, their cheerleaders in the media and now a player we plucked from obscurity and turned into an England international in little more than a year.

If the name Everton still means something in English football Stones shoukd be told he is going nowhere at this time.

Well, if he wants to go, and we have to sell, then we need to do it today. He will decrease in value if we keep an unhappy player sitting in the reserves.

We could just go "screw the money" and take the high moral ground. Unsure which way I feel about it at the moment, I'm mainly gutted. Did say he was going though.

No I haven't, but isn't this a forum to voice opinions on?

I guess so mate but at least you've now said you haven't a scrap of evidence to support yours. Look, Kenwright has screwed up plenty and mainly because he hasn't the competence to be the chairman we'd like for our club.Your theory that he has orchestrated this whole course of events to line his own pockets, while puttting the club in this jeopardy - knowing the reaction of every fan, endows him with far more intelligence and capability that I could give him credit for. Now that is my opinion at least....

It's all too familiar.

This.

Said the same when Rooney left, when Lescott left and when Arteta left.

I don't disagree with that statement.

Hiwever, we never had the onslaught from the press we have had to put up with this past month so for that reason alone I feel we should knock him back for a year.

The self regarding arrogance of the journalists if he goes will be gut wrenching.

Cant believe he has handed a request in with only 7 days to go.

Shows the immaturity of the lad tbh.

At least we had a month with Lescott.

He'll be sold.

We can't reject his transfer request and play him, because unfortunately he'll probably put in minimum effort and cost us points.

I know this is devestating, but let's not clutch at straws.

It's not being a "selling club" to sell a player who has handed in a transfer request.

Not that I'm doubting the board would have cashed in on Stones this window or the next... Or indeed if he was advised to put in a transfer request so the club can save face. But that is purely speculation.

If this request is real then pretty much what @the esk said.

Apart from don't worry about Stones and his professionalism. Just don't play him.

The money is there to sign Yarmolenko. Leave him and sign VVD and let Stones rot. Him and his agents timing here is a disgrace and this season could already be over. Swerve them both the little scruffy wools. They've played their hand, call their bluff. These jumped up little <insult removed by staff>* need to understand that if you sign a contract that's it. You honor it

*please don't use "retard" in any capacity
