Not necessary with only one week to go - RM am today stated he was staying our club have the final say not stones disappointing he has had his head turned but the media pressure has been immense! He's gone. No way back for him now. Hand in a transfer request - that's your lot.
Our major concern here is, how the hell do we replace him? We are already woefully short at CB, we get 40m for Stones - that means we are absolutely desperate. Anyone we are even remotely interested in, even players not even as half as good as stones, will get another 20m slapped onto their market value.
Its a crap situation - plain and simple. And Stones has done a number on us, plain and simple. He hasn't suddenly had a change of mind, as soon as Chelsea put in the initial 20m offer he wanted out.
F off Stones, F off Chelsea, F off Mourhino (you complete bell of a human being) F off Sky,
COYB, I'm not bitter really.
I'm not ready to criticise the board yet. If they sell him then yeah but criticising him pre-sale is silly.
You off then? Going to burn a shirt with his name on in front of Sky reporters outside Goodison?Bye mate
think a formal request forfeits the players loyalty bonus or something like that if they have one. that's why felliani submitted one on deadline day to save us 4m and make sure the move went throughForgive my ignorance but what is the difference between a formal transfer request and the player quietly telling the manager that he wants to go? Are there any practical or contractual implications besides the player's desire being made public?
Indeed. And if he does cave in at a totally [Poor language removed] price like 40 million, we'll have to pay Burnley 6 million, leaving us with 34 million. Given that Bill will probably take a bit of the money too, we're looking at spending 30 million and trying to replace the most promising CB in the world right now (why else do you think Mourinho wants him?)
[Poor language removed] that.
Violates loyalty payment or something similar. Felli saved us about 4-5m quid by doing it I think.Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between a formal transfer request and the player quietly telling the manager that he wants to go? Are there any practical or contractual implications besides the player's desire being made public?
Tbh mate, I don't really care if he goes. If he put in that transfer request, he clearly doesn't want to be here anymore. Now get as much money out of it (and actually spend it) and move on. Modern football, I absolutely hate it. Came to terms with all the garbage surrounding it. It's the club I love not the individuals playing for it.
He is as good as gone though. We haven't sold him yet.
Yeah....what you said ffsthink a formal request forfeits the players loyalty bonus or something like that if they have one. that's why felliani submitted one on deadline day to save us 4m and make sure the move went through
Its probally leaked out today for all we know this request may have been in for a while?Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between a formal transfer request and the player quietly telling the manager that he wants to go? Are there any practical or contractual implications besides the player's desire being made public?
