Deep down, we all know that our board will sell and that press briefings/rumours of Stones being happy to move are coming from them. It's what they do.

Can you give me an example of a team in any league financing a push for a Champions League position through the sale of one player? The only example I can think of is us with Rooney, and that was a very bizarre season.

I can name numerous instances where that hasn't worked.

Martinez should reject any bid and put this to an end. The thing is f Chelsea keep coming back despite the manager publicly said Stones is not for sale now, twice.

Martinez has said all the right things so far, especially last week when he categorically ruled out the sale.

The board have done well also to hold their nerve and turn down 3 bids.

There comes a point when they will be forced to consider things though. Let's hope that point isn't £35m + add ons.

£40m would be an acceptable fee imo. But this late in the window no thanks.

Yet in 12 months time (if we were to sell) we could see 50 + for him. So regardless of how late it is, i'ts not really acceptable.
