John Stones transfer saga

Is there a mechanism whereby we can throw in a tenner each and get a plane to fly over Chelski with a " Koff Jose NSNO" banner? ( Can't spell Abramovich and presumably its cost per letter.)
Think we should name check GOT? With permission of course.

Why not really?

It's a lot of money and our board have previous.

As mentioned lots and lots. I wouldn't sell for £1billion.

Of course the board have previous and stones agent must be dreaming of the comission he could cream of this. But we would have to pay Barnsley, get two defenders in, its not worth our time and the board to be honest. It's to risky to sell. It's all depends on stones in my eyes

We've got irons in the fire with regard to a replacement. I imagine Evans will be on the way as soon as any Stones deal is agreed.

Not really, we would have to buy two defenders which would take up half of the money, maybe even more and then they have to settle in so our season could be over before its starts. Would rather keep stones and get Evans in who would be cheap

That doesn't really make any sense.

If you're saying we need two defenders then we surely need to buy one even if Stones stays.

"Roberto Martínez has refused to deny claims the player is attracted to the possibility of moving to Stamford Bridge"

Talk about completely irrelevant info, given Stones hasn't handed in a transfer request & doesn't look likely to do so.

I don't think EFC want to sell to Chelsea full stop on a point of principle, and if Chelsea are willing to bid £40m for him, I would be very surprised if a much bigger club like Barca or Real don't have Stones on their radar and come calling next summer with a bigger offer, especially after the Euros.

I can't believe Martinez wouldn't take time to comment on the personal ambitions of every one of our players, it's almost as if he's too busy trying to manage a team to worry about such things...

I don't believe Martinez has denied that Tony Hibbert wants to move to Barcelona.

"worth £40m". Hmmm, sounds like £35m + add ons.

If that bid is lodged we will find out once and for all how resolved the club are to keep him.

If they turn that down it really would be the end of this saga, because Chelsea are unlikely to increase it.

Martinez should reject any bid and put this to an end. The thing is f Chelsea keep coming back despite the manager publicly said Stones is not for sale now, twice.

I wouldn't put it past them but they've impressed me so far.
