John Stones transfer saga

If we ever did sell him for that amount I hope there's riots, barely get 2 decent players in for that once Barnsley take there cut.

If they're prepared to offer it this summer they'll be prepared to offer it next year, then with new tv deal and a few more teams getting involved we get much more money

Yeah I totally agree. He cannot be allowed to leave this late in window. Just too many negatives to list. But largely the fee involved needs to be higher to allow us to signifacantly improve the first 11, let alone squad.

I just can't see how we can sell Stones now for anything less than a bid of more than what Sterling went for.

Martinez would lose all credibility, he's been so blunt about the lad not being for sale. It would need to be ASTRONOMICAL money for him to be able to say "we just couldn't turn that bid down"

Not to mention the fact that after the game today we should be adding at least £15m to whatever our threshold was before.

They can't force us to sell to them. It's simply up to us to say no. Simple as that.

Martinez is adamant he won't be sold and will have zero credibility if we sell him now in this window.
Agree. I'm sure there's a value at which most fans would say "ok, we can't turn that down" but now, that number is just huge.

I know mate not that we our a club ourselves like and want our own players to stay lol

Such disrespect from the absolute bulb heads in the media. I'm of the opinion that Martinez simply will not sanction the sale of Stones and the board wouldn't force his hand for fear of an absolute revolt like they've never seen from this fanbase in their lifetime.

Regardless of the offer, screw the money, Bobby will probably get half anyway so as far as I'm concerned stick 2 fingers up to Chelsea and anyone else who thinks they have some divine right to our top players.

Stones seems like a good kid and not one with a short term approach which moving to Chelsea would be when in all seriousness I think he could reach the very top ( well below us of course!!! ) such as a Barca or Madrid. Stick with Everton for now and he will be well looked after and who knows, maybe win a trophy or 2.

The problem you've got is if the player is insistent on going. Doesn't matter what you say to the press, all the power is with the players and the agents now.

We will have to wait and see. Massive shame if he goes and bad for Everton.

Agreed mate but he just doesn't strike me as the type to force this issue and hand in a transfer request ( which I think the board would make him do to absolve themselves from any blame )

the problem in all this if stones really wants to go, he would have more chance of winning something ,higher wages ect , if he is saying that to the club behind the scenes, he will be let go unfortunately, if and i hope he dosnt go really hope its not to Chelsea

My opinion is he will stay, not for long but will stay

If he continues to progress the way he is, my gut feel is the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd will fall by the wayside.

I say this as for me Stones is/will be good enough to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona

1 more year to cement his potential, and he goes to a club that he will play centre stage for many a year

I hope his agent is sensible and advising him well
