I reckon we already have a deal agreed with somebody, everything is ready to go, but, much like a house buying chain, we are waiting for the selling club to get the man they have chased all summer. It's the only (non financial) reason I can see for Martinez knowing right from the start that he will have to wait until the end of the window.
