John Stones transfer saga

To summarise we should kick off that a presenter of a football highlights programme asked a paid pundit for his opinion on a public transfer rumour.

Right ok.

Gary Lineker was never really taken to hearts of Evertonians same as Cottee. He has more ties with Spurs than us, and he himself and a few others decide the running order on MOTD
John Stones will only leave Everton if he asks for a transfer and to be honest I wouldn't blame him as he will never win anything with us. Double your money C/L, Prem league, F.A cup all real chances of winning. Sad but true.

True, but then he has 15 years in which to do all that.

As expected. Now we will really find out how much the board are resolved to keeping him.

Or if they will be tempted to cash in and provide Martinez with the funds for his 3 proposed signings.

Well that's it isn't it - I think we all know it's one or the other. I reckon it's up to Martinez - surely by now they've told him that's the situation? 'He'll find out how things are at Everton' - after two summers of it being reasonably good I think he's about to get first hand experience!

If £30m, obviously we should reject out of hand - but I just don't trust our board. I understand completely the belief that we'll either sell as late as possible and "Other Operating Costs" a chunk of it, or we'll sell to buy and paint that as "funding the manager", even though the net spend sticks resolutely at approximately zero, such has been the case for (being generous) approaching 20 years now.
