McCarthy and Mirallas Sign New Deals

Looks likely he'll stay.

What we need is a signing.

That will boost us in the first weeks of the season.
I agree. But funding a decent purchase through organic growth of Everton's balance sheet places serious limitations on expediting such signing. It requires a capital injection of some sort to overcome the inertia of our 'sticky' operating income (as in stuck around 120 million). I do not foresee any such injection as likely, and until such time, Roberto's transfer budget is limited to some proportion of the amortisation P/L number. Unfortunately, for this window, last season's purchase of Lukaku 'ate into' this years budget , hence the lack of activity.

@Roidrage winding up half of the forum has been the second best thing about this thread so far.

We're considering changing @Roidrage's name to @haemorrhoidrage for the obvious reason that haemorrhoids are a pain in the arse.

No final decision's been taken yet though. Those of you who have downloaded the ace new app will get a push notification if it does happen.

These deals are great news. Maybe, just maybe, Bobby knows what he is doing. The next few weeks are going to be very interesting, both on the transfer front and who plays where. A couple of early wins, a couple of new faces and we could be on our way. I don't know which I dislike the most, feeling pessimistic because nothing is happening or feeling optimistic but worried because it is misplaced.

Great news and well timed. This is obviously a bit of a ploy to get a bit of a feel good factor around the place in time for the start of the season. Hopefully Mirallas follows suit before we kick off on Saturday if the rumours are true.
