I agree. But funding a decent purchase through organic growth of Everton's balance sheet places serious limitations on expediting such signing. It requires a capital injection of some sort to overcome the inertia of our 'sticky' operating income (as in stuck around 120 million). I do not foresee any such injection as likely, and until such time, Roberto's transfer budget is limited to some proportion of the amortisation P/L number. Unfortunately, for this window, last season's purchase of Lukaku 'ate into' this years budget , hence the lack of activity.Looks likely he'll stay.
What we need is a signing.
