How much? As much as we want. The 'buy it now' price on eBay would be 50m...auction start price 45m...if it doesn't sell we'll happily keep it and search for similar bargains

£28m PLUS Patrick Bamford.

Never get the love in with this Bamford lad, scored a few goals in the championship but so has werld clauss talent like Vydra, Cameron Jerome etc. He would flop in the premier league vault me.

Stones should go for nothing less than £45 million.

John Stones?

Yes, of course he is

I will always maintain that Stones and Duffy together could have been the Everton CB pairing of the future

Two very different players who would have complimented each other well. Stones could play the football and Duffy could have been his bodyguard and defensive enforcer

Ah, the road not taken

Context is everything, I think. It's okay saying "Luke Shaw cost £30m" but then everyone knows United overpaid. John Stones only cost us £3m; we underpaid.

When you have a player who isn't kicking up a stink, is English in today's market, is a ball playing CB (given how few good modern CBs there are), is 21 and is a top pro... at a club who do not want or need to sell being courted by one of the richest clubs in the world, who themselves sold a crap CB for £50m... You cannot put a price on John Stones.

Every single thing is in our favour, so all we need to do is hope he doesn't have his head turned and be resilient. We don't need to sell him, so if they want him they will have to pay more than he is worth. I personally think he's worth about £30m, given the lack of good CBs, the lack of good English players and the fact that he's not only very talented, but also a top lad. However given the context of the situation, anything less than £45-50m and we're being weak. If they want him right now, then they need to pay the kind of fee that will make fans of other clubs scoff, like with Shaw, Carroll or Sterling.

The sale of John Stones is unacceptable.

It really isn't, mate.

It's just about price. Hardly any club could turn down any offer. If Madrid offered Chelsea £500m for Hazard, they'd say yes, because it's (relatively speaking) an offer too good to turn down. Every player has their price.

For Everton, something around £50m (sadly this figure may be a lot less) would be too large to turn down. He is an outstanding player, a future captain and just honestly the kind of lad that makes you proud to be a blue. But it is a team game ultimately, and every player at every club has a price which makes keeping them the unacceptable option.

The most expensive transfers off all time list is going to be changing a lot with the new tv deal. It isnt really huge money given the increase in money to the game. Its for this reason that £50m wouldnt necessarily dramatically improve our squad. I mean Palace wanted £18M for Scott Dann loool . Gone the days of £25m of getting you the best CB in the world

It'll definitely change a lot but good players are still being bought and sold for reasonable prices. If we sell Stones for £50m it makes him roughly the 10th most expensive player of all time - that is huge.

....not sure if Barnsley have a sell on clause. This could make a significant difference, QPR reported to have couped £10m of the Sterling deal.

more than 50. Look at past prices, include the factor he's English, and, finally, include in the fact it's the mad money era now. Loaded clubs are loaded clubs, but everyone is earning boatloads from fat tv contracts. (see also our Lukaku contract.)

don't sell the lid, but if Chelski want him that badly, and it risks turning into a Raheem thing, make them pay.
