I voted £50m+
I will bore you all to death if i go into how highly i rate him. Just to give you a idea, i love watching Stones just as much as i did Cannavaro, Maldini and a prime Lucio or Thiago Silva. Not saying he is in their league but i always say defenders should be seen and not heard - just protect the goal, safety first etc....
John Stones Everton's No.5.
£45-50m would apparently leave us with £40m+ after Barnsley's reported cut, which is huge money (we have to remember that this would put John Stones in the top 15 most expensive transfers of all time). It would need to be that kind of fee for me to sell him if I was Martinez or on the board.
That cash combined with the budget we currently have would allow us to drastically improve our squad.
The other thing that adds to his value for us is the precedent it sets for us as a club and our other young players. Martinez's entire project here is based around keeping talented youngsters together. Stones is the first major test of that. If the club choose to reject huge money, and he chooses to want to stay, it says to Barkley, Lukaku and the rest that maybe there's something in the idea of trying to build something and win things at Everton instead of transferring your way to silverware.
I suppose we could try and retrain him as a centre back.£28m PLUS Patrick Bamford.
