Hope the club absolutely rinse those snides if a deal came about. 50 Mill+

Realistically if it's this summer it would be 30-35 million

I voted £50m+

I will bore you all to death if i go into how highly i rate him. Just to give you a idea, i love watching Stones just as much as i did Cannavaro, Maldini and a prime Lucio or Thiago Silva. Not saying he is in their league but i always say defenders should be seen and not heard - just protect the goal, safety first etc....

John Stones Everton's No.5.

Changed my vote to £50m+ after reading this.

Would refuse to sell at this point in the window, we are already struggling to get an experienced CB in before the season starts and the chances we could get two in are remote.

We saw last year how being uncertain at the back really messed up the whole teams confidence and we have a tough set of opening fixtures - having to bed in either two new CBs or start either Browning/Galloway in their first premier league matches in the role is too much of a risk.

Mourinho has already said “We have three [central defenders] plus Ivanovic, so that is four. We have two who are more than 30 years old. We would like to have two less than 25 years old, which would give us the next 10 years. But as you can imagine it’s no something urgent, it is not something we are desperate for it." In which case he can come back next summer.

Lets look at the facts:

1) Huge inflation. TV Money has Gone through the roof this year. Teams have like 3x as much cash to spend
2) There is a serious lack of top quality CB's anywhere - Compare todays CB's to 10 years ago
3) Stones is English.. this rockets up his value with FFP
4) 4 Years on his contract

Chelsea sold David effin Luiz for £50m ! The prices in football are massive nowadays with oil and tv money.

If i am considering an offer this window to sell, it would have to be around £60M mark

50M.

IMHO, Bobby wants nothing to do with selling stones because the thought of running around now to get in 2 CB,s would sink him.

Looks to L4 for the color of the smoke rising from the goodison towers.

£45-50m would apparently leave us with £40m+ after Barnsley's reported cut, which is huge money (we have to remember that this would put John Stones in the top 15 most expensive transfers of all time). It would need to be that kind of fee for me to sell him if I was Martinez or on the board.

That cash combined with the budget we currently have would allow us to drastically improve our squad.

The most expensive transfers off all time list is going to be changing a lot with the new tv deal. It isnt really huge money given the increase in money to the game. Its for this reason that £50m wouldnt necessarily dramatically improve our squad. I mean Palace wanted £18M for Scott Dann loool . Gone the days of £25m of getting you the best CB in the world

The other thing that adds to his value for us is the precedent it sets for us as a club and our other young players. Martinez's entire project here is based around keeping talented youngsters together. Stones is the first major test of that. If the club choose to reject huge money, and he chooses to want to stay, it says to Barkley, Lukaku and the rest that maybe there's something in the idea of trying to build something and win things at Everton instead of transferring your way to silverware.

I think our other players will realise that Chelsea made an offer we couldnt refuse.
