I can't see us getting Mertens, doesn't sound by those journalists that we are seeing him as a top signing and once Inter get the Shaqiri cash no doubt they'll blow us out the water financially speaking if they make a bid for him.

I know and that's what's confused people. If Stoke are able to buy Shaqiri and we can buy Mertens then sorry Stoke but there should be nothing to stop us from getting both.

They aren't really similar. Mertens plays exclusively on the left wing and Shaqiri plays either in the center where he's best or on the right wing.

It would solve our No10/Barkley and Kev problems, provide cover and give us two top class wingers at all times.

Yep. If we where to get them both we would have a serious shot at top 4. At least as good a chance as Spurs, Liverpool or Utd.

yes. I lived in Milan for four years. I was fortunate enough to have a season ticket for Inter when Ronaldo almost won them the league (1998) I have seen a lot of games at the San Siro.
