It was a very effective system the year before last. We just lacked the oomph to make it work for us last year imo.

But we played Barry and McCarthy. Not Barkley as he would like us to. It just wouldn't work.

I like that, but I think RM has brought in Cleverly to be a regular starter and we all know Gareth Barry will still be first name on the sheet, even when he needs a zimmer frame to get around the pitch.

Not sure where Barkley is going to fit in now TBH... nice problem for us to have though for a change.

Yep. It'll be interesting to see how Bobby decides to put out his team. I think we might change how we set up according to the opponent, as the players we have in midfield allow us to play several different styles

But most teams don't have wing backs like ours. How many teams have a wing back setting up another? It leaves huge gaps. Counters can destroy us.

Tell them to only go one at a time although other teams push both their fullbacks forward. As long as you actually pose a threat it still works. The problem last season is we didn't.

Barkley is not a No 10 and he's too good for the bench so frankly whether we buy Shaqiri or not that's where I want to see him play most of next season.
