Who is honestly going to crap on the leading goal scorer of our team in a crap season? The only thing you could crap on him for is not scoring more goals.

There is that but if his general play and control was better could we have been looking at 30 plus goals.

overall his game has improved over the season, in different ways he has become a more well rounded striker.

Fully expect 15-20 goals from him next season now though. Premier league goals.

If we'd been offered 20 goals off him this season in August we'd have taken it.

Considering so many people are moaning imagine how many he could get if he has a good season?

At the end of the day, this never-ending debate shows two things, given that he has 20 goals and 9 assists this season:

1) We have high expectations for him, given his age.
2) If this is a bad season for him, a good season is going to be terrifying.

Hes not been at his best this season, the teams hasnt either and he hasnt got a proper playmaker supplying him. Yet he still has got 20 goals for the season.

20 goals in an incredibly negative team.

Dare i say it, but i reckon he'd have done better under Mr. StrikerGraveMaker Moyes, because dear me, he gets so little service, and if he doesnt convert the first chance he gets, they all go ape! Christ, just turned 22, and he's scored 36 goals in 80 games for us, just shy of a goal every other game.

I said at the start of the season, if Lukaku contributed to 38 goals this season, everyone would be chuffed. He got 6 assists and 10 league goals this season, which is 1/3 of our goals.

I think thats a good return. Especially seeing as we're absolute gash.
