What would Levy do if Spurs produced a season like this one?
What about United if Van Gaal fell 6 places plus short of his league target this season?
or the kopites if Todgers missed top 4 by a country mile - despite his 2nd place last season?

Martinez has massively failed this season, the only reason I'm seeing given for sticking with him is the vague hope that he might be able to get back to what he did last season. Is that a pragmatic view or just plain weak from a business management perspective?

The thought of him dismantling our squad and rebuilding in the summer terrifies me tbh.

Well Manchester stuck with a manager for over 20 years through thick and thing. Spurs run a club in a manner than is a bit of a laughing stock.

Rodgers now looks like he'll be in his third 3 without winning a trophy. He is definitely 3 years without winning a major trophy.

Yep I would get him out. He is a really decent guy but that does not get you anywhere. I have never liked the fact he signs players who have Wigan connections. He is not a big Club manager imo.

So despite the fact that he doesn't know what he's doing you want him to stay.

Why?

Is he going to suddenly be better at seeing the obvious next season?
Good point if he is lost now whats going to happen in the summer to make him change.
Another point is how many of our top players will want out

Forget them, fecking West Brom, Villa and Palace have sacked their managers after being in a similar situation to us.

We are Everton, not Burnley.

still think we should hang in there with him....

there's no evidence to suggest that its going to come good sticking with what he have

This isn't a dig mate but I'm intrigued as to why you would keep him when you can't see things changing?

I understand where you are coming from but I wouldnt want us following the example of Spurs or them lot in their hiring & firing policies, and Man U operate on a different level to us really as they can shovel cash into a problem.

Its not a stretch to think back over your time watching football and remember managers who had a bad season or even failed at one club, before coming back stronger and being a success. We all know this happens, so I don´t think it should be difficult to understand some peoples view that he be given more time. If he is being judged by this season to the level that people want him sacked, then he can be judged on last in the opposite way....and therein you have the balance and the reasoning why myself and others want us to stick with him.

I view this season as a hole that we fell further and further into and that all decision making, performances and results are greatly affected by the position we have found ourselves in and have not had a moments respite or luck to drag us out. Everything is tainted by this atmosphere of fear and low confidence. I don´t think some of the more grating of decisions by the boss, and performances by some of our regulars will be as likely given the light and optimism of a new season with the inevitable refresh of the squad which is clearly and badly needed (although i can totally understand some peoples fears of allowing Martinez to make further signings if they expect him to be gone regardless next season).

Dont know if this has already been posted but ... this almost seems like a warning from the past. A Wigan fan on RM 4 yrs ago.
If this isn't proof he isn't going to change, nothing is.

Average finishing position for Spurs under Levy - 6th.

He has been tactically found out.
He has no plan B except do plan A faster and with more intensity.
If we don't go down it will be no credit to him. It will be because there are 3 worse teams.
Next season there might not be.
Why wait?
I'm haven't heard one good reason.

Forget the 'record points total' from last season. Why? Because Martinez sure as [Poor language removed] has. He doesn't do ANY of the things he did last season. If even he doesn't care what made last season great to the detriment of league form this year to instill his ethos, why would any of you?

Martinez has only had one season in the premier league he wasn't fighting relegation. He didn't change it with Wigan and he's not changing it with us. That's enough for me.

Last season he hasn't quite put his stamp on the team.
This season you have to give him complete credit for.
Where was the light and optimism of this new season.
