Tim Howard

I think there are different roads for many Americans who love the sport to choose Everton. Mine is a unique one...built on hate...doesn't mean over the years the club hasn't become part of me because I picked them in 1982 (or was it 83?). I played youth footy, and this lad who moved from England was on my team. He was better than all of us...rightly so, youth footy in the states in the early 80's was terrible...and an incredibly arrogant popping off at the mouth Liverpool fan. So I got to know him a little, and eventually found out that Everton were the City rivals for LFC. It may seem silly to pick a team on being contrarian...but hey, that's how it started. Back then, there really wasn't a way for an American kid to follow the game...beyond minor blurb in the paper here and there...it got a little better in the early 90's, but still very little coverage. It really wasn't until the late 90's where it became realistic to follow with regularity...and the early 2000's to watch the team with frequency.

So...there's my story...I've told it here several times. I can thank a Kopite for my allegiance to the Blues.
Ilikeilikecheese....damn good reason to support the Blues

I think Howard takes a small step to his right leaving a big gap on the other side. It was a good shot but Taleban Tim was out of position and was a long way from getting near the ball.

As soon as it went in I felt it had been a goalkeeping error.

He played ok for the rest of the game other than a trademark duff punch.

I hope Robles (unlikely) is back tomorrow to face Ulloa and the other Leicester big units.

I'm a yank, could not give two poops who or keeper is or if we have any Americans in the team. Everton is my team, national team I don't give any care about.

I DO think Yedlin could have been a good buy tho.

Yeldin has talent but needs a few years of expereince. He needed to go to a side that develops players for a few years.

We do have to think about bringing a new keeper in but Timmy did fine the last 2 matches. You are deluded if you think otherwise. Young Boys has had a pretty potent attack the past few years. Odds are they were probably always going to get a goal.

Watch the replay...he doesn't see the shot until it's too late...his vision was blocked. It's so obvious from the replay...the view behind the striker...he doesn't react until the ball is nearly halfway to the goal.

In that case he should have got in a position to see the ball.

One step left there and the problem's gone. He may still have scored, but it's the fundamentals and basics that I'm always going on about which he hasn't got.

Right, gotcha. Btw, Hibbert, he did excellent in two games this season, right? Or, at least, he did ok, right? So you must think most would 'be deluded' if they thought a player who had been massively subpar should be immune from criticism, right?

I understand what you're saying...I can't win here. I didn't think his positioning wasn't all that bad, he was very central...Jags flashed in front of him just before the ball was kicked...like split second before...it was a good strike with a ton of bend, and he clearly didn't see it until it was well on it's way.

He does my head in...dunno why, but he just does....it seems a lot of goals we concede could have been stopped by him being in a better position.....This could be a misconception of mine though....I actually feel safer with Robles is goal.
