I have had enough of his recent decisions but i wouldnt exactly have him sacked tomorrow (maybe end of season if we flirt with relegation)

Some people do view him as a saint. I feel to some he is bulletproof.

The reason i say i am backing him is because i never want a everton manager to fail.

you started a thread saying 'Martinez OUT. There i said it. (end of the season of course)' and now your saying 'but i wouldnt exactly have him sacked tomorrow (maybe end of season if we flirt with relegation)'
Thats why you're seen as doing the 'hokey cokey' here mate.

My wish - Let's just get to the end of this woeful season, still preferably in the PL, bin off as many of the over 30's as is possible - whether or not this include's Roberto depends on our final staging - and spend two months pre-season integrating some more of our younger players into the first team squad. Build up their confidence and experience, emphasise to them that if they are good enough they are old enough, create our own 'on field' brat pack including Besic and McCarthy - let them develop together and allow them a little arrogance both on and off the pitch. Every successful team has players with a certain panache within their mentality that's either natural or bred into them, which makes them exciting to watch and other players thrive on it. Instead of this stale, softly softly approach we appear to have adopted. WE ARE EVERTON - these youngsters need to be given the chance to develop this sense of belonging and pride instead of being sidelined in the ressies or U-21's/U18's. But most of all, we really need to ship out the deadwood - they have had their day and been good servants of the club but we ain't going anywhere with this jetsom and flotsam circling the bows.

It has been a poor second season with lots of bad luck but my faith in RM remains strong.

And one of the reasons is that he is actually a smart mover in the transfer market.
Robles now looks good business; Besic was a steal ; Mc Carthy is top class ; MC Gready was good biz at a low price; Alcaraz is not bad and although injury prone was a freebie ; even Kone who has had bad luck with injuries is now back. And I am still a big believer in Lukaku. RM's record is as good as almost anyone's bar Mourinho.

Of course I am not a fan of all he does for example I am a confirmed Naismith hater and now am pro-Robles but that alone will not turn me against RM who is building a good outfit.

The problem with the theory that its the 'added games of Europe' is that we went out in the first round of both the FA cup and the Carling Cup. Theres been like 3 extra matches so far this year, total.

just checked, two extra games this year vs last year.

Lets take West Ham as an example, From the start of the season to the end of November they had played 14 games

In the same period we had played 19 games, That's 5 more and you have to take in to account the amount of traveling to the likes of Russia

Are you suggesting playing 5 more games, Traveling across Europe and having to play Thursday/Sunday doesn't have an effect on a squad of our size?

Certain things are really doing my head in, bringing howard back, his frankly weird barry obsession, naismith obsession, killing barkley by playing him out of form on the wing, how slow he was to realise stones should be first choice, and this absolute refusal to play with balance over his faves, but like I said in the henen thread he does seem to have a genuine vision for the future with henen, ledson and galloway etc. So I'm not quite in the 'sack him' party just yet, he has tested my patience, and I find his interviews really tiresome especially his almost optimistic moaning, but I still hope he can come through this

Of course, do you not agree that as quick as we praise him for last season, there must be some level of blame for this season ? That is the only bad thing about this forum with Martinez, we are all quick to shoot down anybody who speaks out at martinez and his faults. Im not saying he should be perfect because we are only human, but at times we have all sat there at goodison or away from home and on tv saying, bobby needs to swap person A for Person B, for example we can all see Barry is a liability right now - Bobby cant. We can see that the midfield is too narrow in the attacks, so lets stretch play with two wingers ? Just little gambles that can work in his favour when things are a little hit and miss.

You cant really make rash generalisations such as this and speak for other people though, Paul. Likewise you cant really express yourself in such a polarised and at the same time self-contradictory 'round the houses' way and then, when people quote back, immediately take umbrage by trying to dismantle what they've said. You do make some totally valid points but unfortunately, and with respect, they lose credibility because they are wrapped in this 'sack him, but at the end of the season' take. Why at the end of the season then. Why not now...for if he is as toxic for the club as you make out, why would you allow him to stay. And perish the thought,he could very well have us back to the quality football we know weve played under him in the past before then. Evertonians generally don't go overboard with the 'out' lark without good reason and even then its after enduring long time dissatisfaction. Not now.

Did we lose yesterday because Chelsea has "found us out"?

Have RS "found us out"?

Im not buying this WE'VE BEEN FOUND OUT stuff. It's clearly the easy solution and explanation for many.
This for me, if you take the recent results in isolation. West Brom - okay that's disappointing, but we played well and created plenty of chances. Palace - great result at a tough away ground, stopped a winning run, were unlucky not to score more than 1. Liverpool - given our recent derby results, not the worst thing in the world to share points for both games, we stopped their winning run, and we nearly won it late ourselves. Chelsea - we lost from a spectacular late goal at the bridge, created at least 2 fantastic goal scoring opportunities, what were we expecting out of it?

When you look at the run as X wins in Y games, it gives one impression, but if you dig deeper and look at the games in isolation instead of just the general trend, there's been a clear shift both in our approach and our performances somewhere around the West Ham FA Cup game. We've significantly improved our performances compared to how we played against Hull, results don't tell the whole story.

Maybe the title of the thread is more aggressive than it should be, my problem with some of the replies is they normally back martinez (which as i said earlier is fine, we all have differing opinions) but the problem lies with the fact everyone is to blame but martinez, only a few have popped up to say, yeah bobby should take the blame but he alse has dealt with problems A,B,C. such as injuries which havent helped, and again that is fine.

I didnt really get my view across in terms of what i would do, just more of a observation on what has changed. For example:

Me: I would give Martinez until the end of the season to see how we finish. If there are signs of him mixing it up then im happy to at least give him next season.
General: General observation is that we are 12th, out of both cups, playing okay but no real attacking threat 2 wins in 16 i think is worrying.
Everton: Will probably give him 5 years to see were he can take us.

I tried to point out i actually want bobby to stay and succeed personally, but im not sure he will take us any further than Moyes did. Moyes has been lynched plenty of times for poor subs or lack of attacking balance, which martinez is guilt yof lately.

Hes done poorly in every aspect of this season, still shouldn't be sacked though imo.

His predecessor had an almost identical start and turned that around superbly the subsequent season, nothing suggesting Martinez cannot do the same.

Apart from the Europa
