2-0 to Chelsea, they'll eventually break down our stubborn defence and will get a second late on. We won't even threaten to score.

This has to be (but won't) the team:

Robles, Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines, Mirallas McCarthy Besic Oviedo, Barkley, Lukaku

McGeady is out, Atsu can't play, and we don't have any other players capable of playing wide left or right as Pienaar doesn't exist any more. Surely Naismith's disgraceful form must catch up with him soon?

Lukaku winning goal as he muscles past the racist centre back, dropping him to his clapped out knees and smashing in a left foot missile then goading Mourinho with the new "you didn't call me" gesture.

he kept him in the team when al jazeera or whatever his name was got injured at wigan, what martinez says to the press and what he does or thinks are clearly two very different things, treat em like mushrooms berto

I hope so. It would be madness really to drop a lad who has kept 3 clean sheets in a row and looked better than Howard has all year.

From Martinez' press conference it sounds as though Howard will come back in, Baines very doubtful as he hasn't trained today and will be assessed. McCarthy also to be assessed as they don't want to give him too much football too soon. I reckon it'll be very similar to the Liverpool line up:

Howard

Coleman Stones Jagielka Oviedo

Besic Barry McCarthy (or Barkley if not fit)

Lukaku Naismith Mirallas
If McCarthy isn't fit I hope Oviedo has brought a new pair of pants if that's the cover he's going to get in front of him on Cuardrado's debut. Mirallas and Barkley - That's certainly brown trousers time.

Just had to educate one of those Chelski nobheads by explaining your just a little club in west London with about 15000 fans all the rest are bandwagon jumpers .He obviously as smoked some good gear over the yrs he couldn't recall them being proper [Poor language removed] with a shitty ground that was always half empty and i explained history went back much furthur than 20yrs in reality they're just Fulhams neighbours so come on EVERTON lets beat these great pretenders .I bet non of those headhunters ever mention when they got kicked to fxxx in the F.A.Cup at Walsall ....my how we laughed. ..good old days ..C.O.Y.B.
Chelsea have had a bit more history than that. They had a very good team in the 60s and had qualified for the champions league before Roman bought them.

Sorry, just put those 3 in the middle. Besic and or Barry would be more deep lying and Barkley would be central. I think we should play the same system as we did against Liverpool and if McCarthy is out I think Barkley is the only replacement. Only other options I could think of doing would be Naismith back in the midfield 3 (no thanks) or Oviedo in there and Garbutt at left-back which I would not be confident of against Chelsea.

Oh ok.

It's a bit confusing because people say that's he's playing a 4-3-3 except Naismith is a false 9 with our strikers pushed wide. That's a fancy way of describing a diamond formation.

It all depends on whether he risks McCarthy. Personally while I would love to try and get something at the bridge it isn't really that important so probably not worth the risk. It would be a good game for Barkley to come in as his replacement.

+1 for the keep the faith in Joel team. Also think we'll see largely the same team and set up as against the RS. Hope Miralles is ready for a full 90, Lennon and Barks on for Nais and Barry nice and early, depending on the situ.
