Robles isn't a keeper to rely on. He will never became a no.1at everton. 2 possibilities:
1)We sign a new keeper this window or
2) Howard will be straight back into the team.

I'm a believer in keeping players on the team unless they are not good enough. Joel has not let us down and deserves to stay in. Howard on the other hand should have been dropped for his performances earlier in the season. A bit of a test for the manager.

Joel has barely put a foot wrong since Howard's injury. Howard may as well have been lobbing them in his own net from 20 yards away this season.

It's a no contest on form. Robles deserves to keep his place. It'd send a terrible message if he didn't.

Robles is conceding 1.6 goals a game for us and supposedly playing okay, were as Howard over a much longer period is conceding 1.3 goals a game and he's been out of form.

To say Robles has barely put a foot wrong is gilding the lily to much. He played well against West Ham but still conceded 2 goals and looked like a competition winner for a half time beat the keeper contest in the penalty shoot out, and he needn't have bothered turning up against WBA. But he was poor against Newcastle, Hull and should have done better against City.

Howards the number 1 choice, when he's fully fit he'll likely get his place back.

Robles looked dodgy first couple of games. Big shock. He'd not played for beards.

Since then he's looked ok. Certainly no worse than the dross Howard was dealing out.

Awful message to send to the team. Play well, look like you're improving game by game. Dropped for a player who has been God awful all season.

Great idea.

If it was say Coleman out for half a dozen games and Hibbert stepped in played crap for the first few games and then looked OK would you expect him to get his place back or keep Hibbert in while he's doing OK?

Howard guarantees mistakes almost every game. They might not be clangers but they are consistent, poor positioning on direct free kicks, going to ground too quickly, not coming for crosses, beaten too easily from distance, falling to ground under pressure to quickly. Joel is only going to improve. There might be a huge clanger here or there but he is capable of better saves than Howard already and his kicking is better. I don't mind an argument about whether Joel or someone else should be our number 1 but there is no way I am happy with going back to Howard as a number 1. He needs replacing permanently and if that is Robles or someone else then all the better. Howard can be our domestic cup goalie this season.....oh wait.
