The Cameroon star is all set to join the Italian side and the final paperwork should be completed in the next 48 hours.
The Toffees will receive a £1m fee from the Italian club but will also pay Eto'o one month's severance - equal to his £55,000 a week wages.

Sampdoria have agreed to pay a similar figure to the former Barcelona and Inter Milan star as part of his agreed signing-on package. Everton did have an option to extend the 33-year-old's stay at Goodison Park by a further 12 months, although boss Roberto Martinez has flatly dismissed speculation of any fall-out.

Don't really understand this. Just leaves us with less options up front, as I doubt we'll sign anyone with Kone coming back. Maybe it was the plan for him to stay half a season all along, I dunno but it strikes me as odd. Better get a fee for him otherwise there's no point in letting him go.

He thought he'd signed for a club pushing for the top four, not the bottom four. I don't mind him going, as long as we have another option coming in. Senor Brown Brogues hardly ever played him in his best position anyway. If we got in a decent wide player to replace him, I'd be satisfied with that.
