LOL. Come off it. You have bought your success same as the rest of them.
I agree with this in some ways yes, but I think Ferguson played a huge role, it's not just money I think. I'm not old enough to know exactly what happened in the 90's but after Ronaldo left United in 2009, United had a really really crap team. It's almost beyond belief how they won the title in 2011 and went to the CL final, they had a shocking squad let's be honest you know. It was down to the manager, somehow they kept winning. It was one of the only times we actually beat United in 2011, man for man they were no match even for Arsenal imo and yet they wrapped up the league title and went to the CL final until Barca toyed around with them. They had a really crap team.

Look at what happened also in 2013, yes they signed RVP a world class finisher but the rest of their squad again was simply appalling and for them to win the league with what 8 games to spare? Shocking. You can see the effect Sir Alex had because when Moyes took over, he realized the actual standard of the squad wasn't a good standard. It was a midtable squad that only reached dizzying heights because of the great man Fergie himself. No other manager could do what he did with that team.

They were. But the point remains, Utd have played the PL years very well, and their spending is generally funded by the business they run. Not an privately rich owner bankrolling them. Think thats the point most Utd fans make

....there's no doubt they are a rich club. Whether you have a rich sugar daddy or are the biggest sporting franchise in the world doesn't really matter, you spend vast amounts of money to bring and maintain success. That's how it works and United are no different to others who can shop regularly at Harrods.

It is an irrelevant point. They have bought their success same as the rest. It doesn't matter how the money was derived.

In the scheme of things, it doesnt really does it? Just making the point that they say they are spending their own cash, not someone elses. Couldnt care less me, I would happily spend £££££ of someone elses cash!

It's a shame three players who were a big part of last season, never got to play a minute. Sturridge, Flanno, Suarez.

I think of them have not quite come to grips with the fact that Suarez is gone and he isn't coming back. I'm sure he's enjoying playing in the competition for Barcelona.

It's also one that only united fans care about.

Ah I see what you guys are saying!

Yeah, I'd agree on that then. I still stick by my point, ONLY the champions should be allowed to play in the CHAMPIONS league.

This runners up nonsense is silly. Look at Arsenal - they won't get near the thing, as soon as they meet Bayern or Barca, they are out.
Top, top back-tracking. ;););)

Apart from when they brought Beckham, Neville x 2, Butt, Scholes and Giggs through the youth set up. But apart from that, yes. Just like pretty much every successful club ever.

But you're not prepared to separate Utd, who built up their money through league success and very savvy club marketing, from City/Chelsea who were given a shedload of money just like that.

I generally loathe Utd but I'll defend them a bit on this point.

Well we can rule that out, Kev wants CL.

Brent keeps alluding to the fact that Balotelli flopping doesn't really matter because he was purchased so 'cheaply'.

For a bit of perspective, he's dearer than every single one of our players bar Lukaku. And is probably on bigger wages than any of our players.
