Never mind the fact that West Ham had some of their best players out. We have Baines, Barry and Stones out, and we certainly missed Baines and Barry. Baines' deputy Oveido isn't match fit so we played Hibbo at left back and we had Ossie in the middle of the park ffs.
Speaking of which,that's the best I've seen Osman play for quite some time. Was worried he'd get overrun and, though he didn't do much defensively, he was ace in their half of the pitch. McCarthy did a huge amount of donkey work, doing some of the work that Barry would normally do. MOTM for me, well in James.
Barkley was poor, Lukaku scored and had a half decent game, Eto'o plays for Everton. Nice to see Mirallas back, clearly not match fit, did a few nice things in the first half but had tired so taking him off when he did was probably about right.
Whatever issues Distin had in his head or anywhere else seem to have been sorted out. He battled hard all afternoon making some huge efforts to get on the end of the hoofed ball towards the grock known as Carroll.
Shame Hibbo's shot didn't go in though.
If we come away from Wolfsburg with a point then it'll have been a boss week. Think we might see a "keep it tight" performance like we saw at Lille.

Yeah, but we have played them in the first 10 games or so. And even the Chelsea game was no where near the game the scoreline would suggest.
