I don't think El Tri have ever shown any interest. He got a couple of youth callups for the Yanks, too. I think Mexico are pretty deep at fullback.
They also have a similar "problem" to the English, where there appears to be a clear bias towards selecting players from a few elite clubs. America, Cruz Azul, Leon, and Santos Laguna make up a large portion of their domestic-based callups. 7 year old Tijuana ain't one of those clubs.
