But he suffers from the same problem alot of our fans are moaning about with our current players, hes slow and is prone to being caught out with clever movement. Not the best passer too and stoke wouldnt consider anything under 10 mil for him, which would be absolute criminal if we paid that.

Think we've got just the right amount of snide in our team now
Dont disgree but I think jags, Stones and Shawcross would have a good variety to deal with different forward threats
He might also be able to win the odd header at corners!

As I said in my blog; Winger is an absolute must - Perisic would be my choice but what's the liklihood of that happening and I don't expect us to go in for any other position other than a CF

whilst I agree that shawcross is a hatchet and gets away with more than he should . hes still a good defender and I wouldn't honestly mind a no nosense defender who could win aerial balls so I don't shet me kacks every time a cross comes in anything around the 5-8 mil mark we should consider imo

And your evidence for that is............? I think before WBA he had one managerial job? Is that what you mean by 'everything' ? He was excellent as assistant to our previous manager, at least trying to get him to try 'proper football'.
Preston sacked after poor results
Sheff Weds sacked after poor results

Theres been plemty of good assistants who couldnt make it as a manager

OK, two then. Plenty of very very good managers have ben sacked more than twice. Irvine was the forward thinker, not Moyes, when they were together at Everton. It is well known that Moyes never listens to anyone, and that is/will be his ultimate downfall, and Irvine will work in football management for a long time, because he is prepared to move with the times. It would be interesting to tot up how many of the managers currently in a job in the Prem and Championship have previous sackings on their cv ?
