I reckon Delph will sign a new deal, but yeh he's a good player. Begivic definitely - if he doesn't sign a new deal would snap him up!Would happily take Delph and Begovic.

But mine assumes a degree of reality - yours starts with the premise "I want to spend lots of money".My 'creative accounting' sounds just as 'creative' as your's.
Yes mate. The key point is that's payable over a three year period - We are two months into the second year, so we've received one instalment of the three. That's £30m, of which I figure we've spent £10m of already. We can blow £20m in January if you like, or wait for the second instalment to make a pot of £50m for next August. I know which I would rather see Martinez do, and to be fair to him it's what he did last year. August 2013 saw several Prem clubs throwing cash around all over the place, cash that they borrowed against the first instalment of the TV money.... go and be a norwich fan if that's the sort of transfer policy you want to see.given the figures you refer to above, an additional 10 million has been spent on top of the revenue gained from player sales. My point is that the TV deal has, or at least will do, provide us with far more than an extra 10 million pound. In fact it is going to provide us with close to an extra 100 million pound over a three year period.
Cashflow is not conjecture pal, it's a daily fact of life for any business. When your cashflow stutters bad things happen - like the bank calling in loans and forcing you to sell assets to meet the debt. Arteta ring any bells for you?may have a point regarding cash flow, although it is a point based entirely on conjecture, as are my opinions on the financial scenario at Everton.
Didn't the most recent set of accounts show that the club was making significant inroads in reducing the debts? I swear it did. What kind of idiot does that, eh? I'm not saying we are in the red and have to sell to buy, I'm saying we have a CHOICE because we have spent within our means and not blown silly money for the sake of placating fans who measure "success" by the size of the transfer fees quoted in the papers. I reckon we have £20m of the first instalment of the TV money left, and I don't want to see us spend it all making panic buys in January.flow problems are why many clubs gain cash advances on future revenue, which may well be the reasoning behind the recent loan that we have taken out. But ultimately, I find it very hard to believe that Everton are right back in to 'sell to buy' mode, after spending not that much on top of revenue gained from selling players. To put it simply, a lot of the 'selling to buy' has already taken place, but on top of that we have the new TV deal.
Exactly. So why do you want the club to spend the money it has left?I said, I'm aware that the owners have one eye on a new stadium, and that's something that just has absolutely no chance of happening if we are already back to being skint after spending circa 10 -15 million pound on top of the revenue gained by player sales.
So why are you arguing with me? I agree that the money hasn't run out - why do you want us to spend to the point we have nothing left?believe there is a lot of money still available, if the club are keeping the money to contribute towards a new stadium then that is fine, but there's no way I am going to accept that an extra 100 million over three years has all dried up already, or that spending an extra 15 million on top of player sales has left us bone dry.
Maybe the club has one eye on selling Howard to an MLS team? If he's under contract we get money for him, but if his contract runs out we wouldn't. Similar to the thinking behind giving Barry a multi-year deal, I suppose.Transfermarkt states that Begovic has a contract at Stoke until the end of June 2016. I would love us to upgrade on Howard with a keeper like Begovic or someone similar. However Howard was only given a new contract in the Summer, and I can't see him leaving for some considerable time. I think we are stuck with Howard for at least another 2 or 3 years.
But mine assumes a degree of reality - yours starts with the premise "I want to spend lots of money".

Can I ask why you think this is the case? Lukaku cost the same amount of money that we received from selling Fellaini, we also sold Jelavic and Anichebe for about 14 million combined, and we will also be receiving approximately an extra 90 million or so over three years as a result of the new TV deal.
We also signed James McCarthy for £13m, Kone for £5m, Besic for £4.5m, Barry for £2.5m (and then consider that his three year contract is worth £11m), McCeady for £1.5m. And then there's the improved wages for Barkley, Coleman, Baines, Howard etc to consider. Mirallas and McCarthy are poised to be offered bumper deals if the media reports are to be believed. And how much is Samuel Eto'o is costing us as one of highest paid players at the club? I'd say that in spite of a new TV deal, we would still need to tighten our purse strings.
This is the crux of our differing opinions. Everton Football Club as a business having £20m in the bank is not, for my thinking, the same as Martinez having £20m to spend. A responsible club does not simply shake every last penny out of the piggy bank and blow it all as fast as possible on players - you recall what happened to Leeds, and Portsmouth? The club will get a second instalment of the TV money in summer 2015, and if my maths is accurate that will more than double the funds we currently have.My point, to which it seems you are actually agreeing with me, is that money is available, and that it is not absolutely necessary to sell to buy in January or the forthcoming Summer. On what, or how the money is spent is a different discussion, but there is money available.
Great shout.....under-rated, cheap, tidy.Bryan Ruiz on loan as cover for Barkley.
