We didn't tear them apart for 70 minutes imo.

Last April is tearing them apart. We took our chances and showed good game management for 60 odd minutes.

If Chamberlain had taken his chance before we scored it would have been a completely a different game.

Last week's result is much worse than this week's though as leicester are a team we should be beating and arsenal are a team that bearing a miracle will finish above us again

Really?

I dont remember him picking the player of the season award up.

He's had a very decent bit of form in that period. Which, by the way, I think we were owed seeing as he looked like an ale house player for his first 18 months with us.
If he bags 20 in all comps will you still be negative about him? Really just looking for a yes/no here

Amazing how much better a player can look when they are played in the right position.

lads we didn't tear them apart or run rings around them, we were just comfortably nullifying them.

we had plenty of gears to go up had we been fitter imo, even though we were comfortable, we weren't anywhere near our top levels.

Neither were they to be fair

Typical early fixture regarding performances

We looked so comfortable in the second half letting them come at us and just absorbing their pressure, we made them resort to just crosses and none of them were working. I honestly didn't see them scoring at all until that first one went in, suddenly a lapse of concentration and they score an easy goal.

Every single time a cross did come in we looked really poor. In a way we where lucky to be playing Arsenal who traditionally don't play like that.

When he was played on the right by Moyes. As in a right winger. Not even a right-sided forward.

He's been doing it for a long time now when he's played centrally with Lukaku. It's no fluke. He's a very hard-working, ball-winning, tidy player who's deadly in the box.

He's a great squad player. Great business picking him up for free.

Yeah, you could.

I have a rule, which is that I always take the views of a regular watcher of another team over mine. Every time. Naismith is a far better player than you give him credit for, and I am happy to concede your points earlier about Ozil missing support due to injuries to other players.

Just feel that Wenger was bounced into the Ozil transfer a bit. Put it this way, from what I do see of Arsenal, (against Everton, 8 mins on MOTD, and CL/FAC), you miss players like Ramsey, Ox, Wiltshire, maybe more than him maybe?

I do agree with the bolded part, I'm not sure what Wenger's intentions were but for me it would have been better if we had brought a top class left winger rather than another attacking midfielder as we already had Cazorla doing well in that position. I personally have a preference for Ozil over Cazorla because A. Ozil has very clever movement, when liberated, floating around the field creating overload where needed and B. Ozil is himself capable of making runs away from the ball whilst Cazorla Is constantly attracted to the ball which eliminates an outlet when when we have the ball.

I feel with the exception of Ramsey, Ozil is missed more than Ox and Wilshere. Ozil Is a player who can put his foot onto the ball, set our tempo and often provide much needed composure when making decisions in the final third. Today for example the fact that he was playing on the left meant that he was often bypassed and not able to stamp his authority on the game which in turn led to us struggling to perfect that final ball when we got into good positions particularly in the first half.

Not me making the decisions here.

To be fair to Arteta, what's hurt him is the decline, as he ages, of his physical attributes
Which leaves him vulnerable at times.

Wenger prefers to have players in that sitting role who can circulate the ball effectively which is why he values ball players in that position. Wilshere played that role at times in the 2010-2011 season, for example against Barcelona in the first leg interchangeably with Song.

Yea I'm surprised they didn't out bid us for Barry - The probably just didn't want to give a 33 year old a 3 year deal. They should buy Song from Barca or stick with Jack there - he needs to make that his position.

I did get the feeling had both teams been fully fit we'd have done something similar to last time we played them.

probably, i think it's fair to say martinez has wenger's number. all 3 games between them in the league arsenal vs everton we've been the better team and could have possibly had 3 wins. 2 wins and a draw definitely should it be now.

maybe we'll be closer to them this season than i originally though and maybe they'll be battling it out for 4th instead of for the title - with the quality of their squad - it would be very embarassing for them.

So, to summarise today:

The past 8 months, certainly. Who has been better? You do know the past 8 months doesn't equate to the whole of last season? Simple maths lad, keep up. 18 months? Bit of an exaggeration, he was recovering from a serious injury. Not the brightest are you?
