So fkn nervous all ready. Normally I take a long shower during a crunch match cos my bowels can't bare it. Think I will do the same today.

Team news isn't great is it?!....Barkley out, Lukaku Coleman Mirallas Atsu all lacking match fitness....

think its a case of keep things tight first half, keep possession, try to tire Leicester out, and then bring on lukaku, Mirallas & atsu second half to win it for us....

Never ideal playing at a promoted club first game, their players & fans will be up for this like its a cup final....

They're going to be as excitable as an angry child mate, all we have to do is put our hand on his forehead and keep him at arms length while he swings wild punches which never reach us due to his short arms, then put em to bed when they've tired themselves out.

I think we will get at least a draw today, its about the 11 on the pitch and not using Barkley been injured or others lacking match fitness as excuse,if we lose its because we were not good enough, or we were just unlucky in the sense we played well, and they nicked the win like has happened in some prem games in the past few years with us.

Still can't see us struggling to get 3 points past these if we play like we know we can. Kev and rom will still be almost as effective when coming on and giving it 100% for like 20 mins against tired defenders. We need to get used to having a 'bigger squad' so we really shouldn't be deflated when another player gets injured, who imo wasn't the most important player in what we did last season, could have been much worse with rom or tim out for 2 months.

R B's injury might act as a wake up call for the rest. They're going to need to be wide awake and competitive from the first minute against these "angry children".

I'd go for if everyone not injured is ready to start.

Howard

Jags Distin

Coleman Barry Baines

Besic Mccarthy

Lukaku Naismith Mirralash

If the 3 likely not to start don't

We'd be forced to choose between Stones or Hibbert at RB and then up front it would be Mcgeady and Pienaar in.

It doesn't take a genius to work out we still need an attacking Midfielder and striker, and if it is not addressed we will struggle if there is any pile up of injuries

What´s so wrong with that? An old head at the back (Hibbert) is not a catastrophy since Leicester will pile men forward in the first half.

As for Osman, Leicester away is much like a cup game against a lower league side. Not much quality but they´ll be fighting like mad dogs. That´s just the kind of game where Osmans ability to slow things down and pull the strings usually works best.

All about attitude for me today. If we get out of this pre-season mode and continue where we left off last season we'll do these easily. If we don't then they'll get cocky, come at us and we'll lose. Have no idea which Everton is going to turn up today...but less confident than I should be

Line-Up Today

Howard

Stones---Jags---Distin---Baines

McCarthy---Barry

McGeady---Nessi---Pienaar

Lukaku

Subs: Robles, Coleman/Hibbo, Atsu, Besic, Gibson, Osman, Mirallas

(Maybe switch Osman for Lukaku with Naismith starting up top)
