Worth remembering they've put out 8 pairs of fresh legs for the second half. Not that we haven't been awful positionally at the back.

Pre-season form:

DLDLL

Results largely meaningless but coupled with that fact that we've played barely any decent football in all fives games now does officially have me worrying a little, I have to admit. Even up until and after the Celta Vigo game I was confident we could turn it on for this game and for Leicester on the opening day but it just isn't happening still..

I certainly hope this is all part of Roberto's master plan for this coming season, otherwise we could find ourselves in trouble. I can't remember a worse pre season than this is recent memory

I go out for an hour and I come back to the commentators reminding us that "7-0 wins mean nothing in pre season".

Yes they do. They mean a lot. How many days away is Leicester? You're telling me that we're going to go from losing to winning in 7 days?

Been a weird pre-season. Feels like we've started late and crammed loads of friendlies in at the end?

Will judge after next week though.

It can't be good for the team morale to not have won a game yet, hopefully they will be fired up for next week cos they no they have played terrible so far.

People can get too worked up about pre-season games but I disagree that they're glorified fitness exercises and you can't criticise performances.

These games have been a chance or both youth and ageing players to prove their worth for next season. Many have failed their auditions. Hibbert looks finished, Osman has been useless, Barkley and Naismith has been shown to be quite limited depending on where they play, McGeady has made the same mistakes in every game.

Martinez can't be coming out after these matches and seriously believing everything was positive. He needs to be looking at certain players and honestly telling himself "that didn't work" or "he's not good enough".
